    Hey Everyone,

I am in need of weather strips for my crewmax windows. One is torn and that is the culprit of why my truck has the smell of moisture on the inside after rainstorms.

Do you recommend going oem on these things or offbrand like from Amazon or eBay? I’m finding the 4 set around 32-50ish dollars.

Definitely OEM, but if feeling adventurous, pick one up off ebay and let us know your results!!

Not being cheeky or anything, just for science! I got chinabay ones for my roof molding part and they didn't work. They were almost identical, except for one little detail that made them pop out. Feels like they never tried that part on actual tundra.

If you are referring to window belt molding, be advised these Do Not prevent water for going down into the door. Nothing can prevent that; doors are designed to manage water coming in and draining out the bottom drain holes (thus the vapor barrier behind the plastic door panel etc.) So if you have a smell you may need to look elsewhere.

So this picture I took (attached) isn’t a necessary thing to replace for keeping water out of electrical component places? It seems that a good amount of water pools in these seams so I don’t see how it doesn’t help with keeping water mostly out.

Window molding is really there to help prevent debris from getting inside the door during the natural travel of the water through the door (it "travels" down behind the outer door skin) as it exits out of the drain holes. Bend down and gently pull up the lower door/rocker rubber seal, you will see the drain holes. Its kinda important these drain holes don't get clogged up.

Great info, thanks! I did not know about the drain holes at the bottom of the door.

Im assuming it’s still wise to replace these though since it keeps things out and seems to help with some moisture?
