Typically a Colorado vehicle will have little to no rust. The majority of roads are treated with sand during snowstorms which makes it rough for windshields only.

I have a 03 RCLB and I'm thinking about changing out the shocks. I've read about the horror stories of how the rear shocks are difficult to remove because the top nut gets rusted on to the point you have to cut them off. I looked this weekend and mine are rust free. Now I haven't tried to remove them yet but I might have a better experience than most. Fingers crossed.

Yep, a brine made of sand and MagChloride. The MagChloride adheres to the sand. MagChloride is the de-icing agent. Works quite well. The MagChloride melts away and the sand does stick around. Better than rust slowly eating away a truck.

Wonder if the OP is going to report back to us? I originally skimmed the ad and didn't see what had been brought up about there being creases on both sides of the bed. I know I sound like a broken record but I don't buy Toyotas in CO due to the higher than National avg prices. There are other areas of the country who don't have salt/rust issues that you can find well under kbb. And likely way less mileage. I'm just not going to throw away money to not have to fly and buy. You could run a business of flipping older rust free Toyotas here.

I would steer clear from buying anything at Groove Toyota. They used to be my go to dealership but not anymore. They seem to ask much higher prices than anyone in town. Colorado is for the most part expensive but that truck with that body damage is not worth what they are asking for.

Most of UT doesn't use salt. Plow the roads and call it good. UT and CO don't get the black ice like the east coast. We'll have surface rust, but not rotten eating the truck away rust.
