I'm going to get my carrier bearing done next week. Is there a recommended brand to buy?

Should I do the u-joints at the same time too or no?

Depends, why are you doing the carrier bearing. Is it confirmed to be a problem of some sort?

I only ask because we've had so many friggin people come on here, "Got vibrations, carrier bearing is shot!" or "Got clunks, carrier bearing is shot". "Uh oh, the carrier bearing has about 3/4" of play up and down!" (Which is normal btw)

Maybe 1 out of 5 times is the carrier bearing actually the problem.

The rubber looks pretty squished on the one side and I have a consistent squeak until I hit about 10 MPH when starting from a stop. I do need to get the u joints greased though.

Sounds like a u joint squeak

Looks like I'm buying a steering knuckle due to the issue a few weeks ago with my brakes. I know to go Spicer for the carrier bearing but I didn't see recommendations in the 'Corner of Shame' post for a steering knuckle and also wheel bearing/hub.

I did notice RA now has the Spicer carrier bearing in stock which is a plus. They checked the bearing when greasing the u joints and they said it is bad.

One of the guys at a shop I recently went to for other service was checking all my stuff out and also said he thought mine was bad. "Too much play". Then I showed him a couple of posts on here of others with similar amounts of play, and asked if he'd ever seen an OEM carrier bearing go bad in 75k miles. I guess he didn't realize the mileage.

Anyway ... take with a grain of salt.

I would order the knuckles from these guys... https://209yota1.com/product-category/steering-components/steering-knuckles/

Basically rebuilt OEM knuckles with the the hubs/bearings (koyo brand bearings, too) already installed. Much more cost effective than getting everything separately, then paying someone to press them in.
