@VWTim initially my ECU was thought to be bricked. New ECU couldnt be read either. It was a bad 5v constant line that prevented the obd port from having power. ECU was never bricked. Flashed the ECU numerous times without issues.

That's good to hear, then I've only heard of 1 or maybe 2 others via HPT forum.

@VWTim Good luck on your move. Would Iike to leave this area. A move to Idaho or Utah would be nice for me...

This should be supported by VFTuner.

The tuner I am going to use next month uses VF and I don't need to send my ECU off to S. Korea to get "unlocked." He said it's supported and he has a stock file he can re-write. Obviously need a dyno tune with a blower on it.

I have the 2650 Harrop on my '18 LX570 stage one w/85mm pulley. Since I feel safer getting it tuned figured might as well go stage 2. He recommended Injector Dynamics or Fuel Injector Clinic for injectors. ID smallest was 1,065cc so I went with FIC 775cc and also saved $500.

Question for the group: I didn't realize XAT had the fuel rails available. Did I overspend by buying the Prospeed "fuel system" which includes that, a Walbro 450 w/SS braided hose and fittings and some other odds and ends in the "install kit?" Prospeeds system is $1560 and the XAT mani is only $900. Not sure what all else it includes that necessitates the extra cost or if that is just markup.

I'd be curious on the injectors being plug and play with our harness. I went with the Five-o motorsports no issues. I'm not sure if the fuel system is the same but the fuel rails and lines aren't a concern until much later in power.

They aren't plug and play and will have to be soldered in. Just following instructions from my tuner to go with these since he has experience with them. So this verbiage from XAT isn't necessarily true? Prospeed said I needed the fuel rail too.

" While the stock 3UR fuel rails do work just fine- when you start adding HP with a Supercharger or Turbo the fuel demand starts to exceed the flow capabilities of the stock fuel rails. Stock fuel rails are made from pressed and welded steel that have bent crossover and feed ports- these ports are as narrow as 5mm!! To put this measurement into perspective- each injector has a 6mm port on each rail- MEANING the feed port for all 4 injectors on each rail is smaller than just one of the injectors feed ports- WOW - so this is why Tundras approaching 600WHP start to run lean and drop pistons and start welding rings and breaking ring lands- the engine is going seriously lean under these high load situations- this is where we stepped in- "

In less than 3 weeks I'm making an 11hr drive to Des Moines, IA to get installed and tuned so need to get my crap together so I don't end up disappointed or caught unprepared. Appreciate everyones input and all the knowledge here.

@ViktorG did an extensive fuel test with the stock items. Not sure if its back up on the YouTube yet but not needed.

This is just a temp move for work, did last year in Phoenix, thought we were coming home to OR, then got Shanghai'd to TX for a year. I haven't found anywhere I'd rather live than the Willamette Valley so far.

Here is some of his recent work. With 37‘s and stock gears the power comes in 1100 RPM sooner, with 37s and 5.29 gears power comes in 800 RPM sooner. These are all NA setups tho.

Also suggested by Matt Smith and firemandan open up the bevel on the fuel rail opening removes about 1.5mm of restriction. I plan on doing this when I get the Denso 750s from fiveO.

@Ponderosa_Pine You will love it! Similar set up except JBA's with duals at each wheel. Let it flow... I lost 1-2psi of boost but no power loss. I still have about 10.1 psi.

Back in the Tundra after 3 weeks of driving a rental highlander.

there is something wonderfully visceral about a S/C'd truck.

the exhaust sound, the acceleration, the caveman simplicity of it all, the absolute middle finger to the greenies.

    I love it.

putting on the TRD airbox soon.
    Waiting on the 77.5mm pulley.
    SG3 mount comes soon.

    life is good.

I have talking to Magnusson about a 2650 but after more and more reading about superchargers on this platform, there is just not enough positive info about long engine life and that is the primary reason I bought a used 2021 to get the last of the ole reliable.

Not saying anything bad about supercharging because there aren't really any horror stories like Subaru's, but I'm really counting on 300-400K on this drivetrain

And that's is 1 response out of many folks asking about long term use and a ton of people showing up saying they have 15-20K with no issues. And that is looking across multiple online platforms.

Again, not a single negative thing to say about Magnusson as I believe they are extremely dependable. I was just hoping to see some common trend.

Also keep in mind that I come from the fragile Subaru EJ25 world, for what it's worth. I've spent 30-40K on engine mods and rebuilds on that platform and finally walked away.

If the Tundra was a toy for me, I'd move without concern. But I just spent 60K cash on a truck I told my wife is going to last like my 17 year old Tacoma.
