My 2022 Limited. Waiting for repair for months like many of you. Also waiting for the Tonneau fix as well. Truck was assembled with bad radio system which took six months to diagnose! These would have been simple problems for Toyota to fix a few short years ago. No urgency make our business transaction right. Can't buy my loyalty back Toyota...

I'd be salty too. The main reason I'm in a 2023 Tundra is because how GM treated me in my last Silverado. Seems like toyota might be playing games with the people that are having issues.

Key fob is a prime example of how crappy things have become with Toyota. You can buy one through parts out of pocket, but they can’t seem to get them to people that already paid $60000 plus on a brand new vehicle. They use the excuse of supply chain shortages, but somehow they are available at the parts counter. I have been a huge fan and customer of Toyota for a long time, but they are definitely sliding backwards. I tried very hard to love this truck, but now REALLY regret selling my ‘18 to buy one. The fuel gauge issue is what finally pushed me over the cliff. There is a redesigned fuel tank on the ‘24s, which by proxy acknowledges there is a problem, but Toyota has only offered a TSB that solved nothing. My seat moulding has broken off, paint already had little orange spots all over, wind noise is insane, odd rattling, driver seat is loose, simple plastic cap doesn’t stay on the seat track, and on and on. I feel like a fool for falling for this mess. Oh well, lesson learned.

I'll second both of what you said I too came from a long line of chevys.
I'm banking on toyota to hold there craftsmanship and there creed,so far things have been on point and couldn't be more pleased with my purchase.

Oh, and felt in the wheel wells?!?!?! Really???? Awesome in snow country. Used to be able to clear that out really easy on my ‘14 and ‘18, but not now.

Hard to argue with the OP on this on. Toyota has a history of reliability but also of fixing items quite quickly. The Tundra is a blip on Toyota worldwide sales but if the new Tacoma has this multitude of issues and then telling customers they will wait many, many months for a repair it will be much more damaging. I understand everyone wanting to defend the Tundra especially when you just dropped 75K but at some point mom has to say, "Hey, my boy has now committed 30 felonies, maybe he isn't that special".

I blindly defended this thing from day one, then it was defending it to justify my purchase, and now I have broke. It was a mistake and I’m willing to acknowledge that. I will most likely keep this through the term of the loan, and then I am taking the “Fool me once” philosophy.

Purchased the truck on Jun 10, 2023, modifications will be made!
So far my only issues as a first time Toyota owner is the Key Fob BS, clearly a Financial benefit to corporate, the "chip shortage" is all total crap. Other than that no issues with my 2023 Tundra with 4,200 miles so far.

Also, there really isn't anywhere where you can go where you may or may not have a similar experience. I bought a 2020 Shelby GT500 and paid $10K over sticker, so $116,000 out the door and that thing was the biggest POS I've ever owned. Don't get me wrong, probably the most fun to drive out of everything I've owned but it was in the shop so often with random problems that after the first 16 months of owning it Ford bought it back from me.

I've also owned Ford trucks prior to this and they will issue recalls with no parts to fix it for months so it's not just Toyota.

I have high hopes for my Tundra and Toyota living up to their historical reputation but it's too early for me to say for sure one way or another, I just know they aren't the only ones.

How did you hear about the redesigned fuel take on the 24s? I am nearing a purchase on one.

Funny I replaced my cover by myself in less than an hour, did mot feel like waiting all day for at the dealership. That part is out there and updated so I don't really believe that issue would make you leave toyota

I really do think this is Toyotas own doing - they have made such a reliable vehicle and been so responsive in a way that other manufacturers haven’t, that they can’t live up to the expectations. They did a complete redesign of one of the most durable half ton vehicles ever produced - if a faulty fuel sender and a cracked piece of plastic are all that I have to worry about then I am sticking with the brand. It sure beats some of the others manufacturers problems………..people keep saying “well it shouldn’t happen on a $60k vehicle”. These days it is hard to find a capable vehicle, much less a truck/suv that isn’t approaching that price point.

I get being upset but swearing off a brand and manufacturer that has been so reliable, durable and conscientious is a bit much.

That said, if it’s true that you can’t get a second fob BUT can buy one at the parts counter, that’s some BS and they should remedy that right away…..

It’s a crapshoot with new modern trucks. They all have issues. Guess at this point, it’s who has the least issues.

It is not just design either. My 2-Gen 2020 had plenty of fabrication/part issues. Seems more of a cultural problem at Toyota and lowering of the bar.

One key fob , no worries cause my power seats and heated steering work great. Ford guys not so much.
Seems with the seat if I use the easy exit function the seat goes back further so my hippo ass won't crush it.

My experience with 1-800 Toyota is it is useless.. My local dealer was solid on my 2019 Camry commuter. They sold out last year and they are dodgy as F now in the service department. I am more concerned with the support infrastructure ghosting me than the issues I could have with the Tundra. Feels like if anything happens "that is so bad for you" is the attitude for the Nigerian 1-800 Toyo and my local dealer will project. I am feeling this will be the same F you attitude that made me abandon GM.

I have logged 690,000 carefree miles on three Toyotas over the last 18 years. I think I qualify as a fanboy.

But if I were in the market for a NEW truck right now, I'd go look at all of 'em. Test drive everything. The days of Toyota supremacy appear to be over, at least for the moment.

I had never heard of the venza until my dad was shopping for a rav4 in 2022. Salesman tried to get him into a venza instead and I said eff that.

I have driven Tundras since 2006 and have had one of each generation except the 3rd Gen. No thank you, I will pass on that one.

No issue with any of them so far and the first 2 were 2WD and I barely spent any money on them. The 2nd Gen I traded for a 2.4 Gen and it had 98,000 miles on it and the brakes were just starting to talk to me the day I drove it in for the trade.

My understanding is, the average American trades in their vehicle at 80K. So, Detroit is hoping you'll trade sooner than that.

I enjoy not playing that game. :)

Sorry to hear the truck issues. I totally get how you feel. I am SOOOOO glad I didn't buy the new Tundra. I do have to admit it LOOKS nice. It just felt cheap when I touched it. When I heard of the wind noise issue that iced the cake for me, no way icould enjoy the truck with that issue. Anyways, good luck, I hope you find something great in this sea of garbage (but green friendly) vehicles we have to choose from....lol
