Techs broke a coil wire connection and are trying to get a full top-end rebuild out of it.

Severe storm. Truck runs rough. Electrical issues. Dealer said spark plugs are bad (water?)

I feel like key information of what happened during the storm is missing.

It sounds like they are unable/unwilling to diagnose it so they are trying to turn you away with a daunting diagnosis and fix.

Their way of saying "no bid".

It ran right for two days after cleaning the terminals. Engines just don't rebuild themselves and run fine for two days before wearing out again.

Your problems are simple but since it appears you live on Kaua'i you don't have many options.

Mice chewed through some wiring, and the "severe storm" is just circumstantial?

Top end rebuild won't fix hydro-lock. Tell them to get you a long block.

Did you have any rodent protection when all this began? Have you checked out the cabin filter for rodent signs? There isn't anything wrong mechanically. Do not crack open the engine, you have an electrical issue here, and just need to locate it.

OP hasn't been seen since this thread was started. The storm must have swept him and the truck away.

That would be weird considering the Tundra is number 3 on this list....

The Longest-Lasting Cars, Trucks and SUVs To Reach 250,000 Miles and Beyond
The annual iSeeCars.com study found these 23 top-ranked vehicles have a 20 percent or better chance of reaching a quarter million miles

    “Happened after a bad storm”

maybe water intrusion into an electrical component like the ECU is causing the error codes and poor fuel management making the engine run rough.

Weird that there is not a single Lexus on that list.
I would have thought the at least the GX460 would have been on it.

At what cost of maintenance and upkeep. I guarantied the F350 will cost about 3 or 4 times as much to make it to the same mileage as the Tundra.

I might be wrong but I think OP drove his truck through high water and caused all the damage. Just doesn’t want to fess up online.

There's only one place I can think of on Kaua'i where you can drive through water....And it's only a few inches deep...Unless you are where you aren't supposed to be :monocle:

I would say most F-350s are being used for business. If I were needing that much towing/load capacity, nice to know that one is right up there compared to Dodge & Chevy's versions.

I do 5k on the 2019 because I have a lifetime engine warranty from the dealer if I do.

Do you have to take it to the dealer for the 5k's? If not, how would they know if you DIY every 5 or 10k?

Nope, just have to document them. I take a pic of the oil and filter I’m using and log the maintenance in the Toyota app
