Good morning! New member of the Tundras site.

I have a (new to me) 2007 Toyota Tundra Limited, Crewmax Cab with the 5.7L engine (5 spd with overdrive).

    HVAC questions:
1 - My HVAC doesn't turn on right away. It takes a min or two with nothing on the dial, then it will turn on, always at 75 (it has no previous memory of settings once you turn the key off).

2 - No heat. I replaced the original thermostat thinking that might be the issue, but didn't resolve. I thought maybe there was a bubble in the cooling system, but I let it run for about 40 min, revving the engine over and over, I did get a few bubbles out but still no heat. It is highly unlikely the heater core went bad, kinda tough to ruin one of those, any other ideas?

    Cruise Control question:
The cruise control is very spotty. When it does come on, it works great, but getting the little 'cruise' green light to show up is very sporadic. Is this just a button issue? Or is this a problem with the cruise control unit itself?

Thanks for any help and ideas. Thank you.

Same symptoms I had. This will fix you up. A T-30 torx bit & 10 mins is all it takes to install.

Thank you! I appreciate the heads up.

I found out about the HVAC/Heater/AC issue....turns out the heater core is bad and the AC (which I suspected) is bad as well. I did a bunch of digging and everyone online said if that is the case, don't do it yourself, take it to a dealer....so I did, they did their own diagnostics and came up with the same diagnosis. $4300. Mostly labor as they have to tear out the entire front end of the truck to get the AC and Heater cores. Ouch....licking my wounds here. But hey, WAY cheaper than $62,000 for a new truck right? RIGHT? :-( Sadly, I can't go through a winter without heat in the truck. It snows where I am all the time.
