Me: you can lower screen brightness to low setting to make the battery drain slower.

Subject: it's okay, I'll just charge it.

Me: but you're not even watching it.

Subject: it's fine, I'll put it on charger when it's low battery

Me: but it'll stay charged longer if the screen is set to low brightness, you won't need to charge it so often and it's better for the battery. Charging it often uses up battery cycles

Subject: *blank stare*

Me: whatever.

 

She listens to YouTube sermons? Hope you didn’t put a ring on it.

Seriously though, plenty of dudes act the same way. Just let it go.

Me: ok, this is how you do "x" correctly.

Wife: too many steps, I'll just stop doing "x" entirely.

 

Wife: Park over there.

Me: Gently and calmly slows to a stop, sets parking brake, puts vehicle into park, shuts off vehicle and hands her the keys. I didn't have to say a word

 

Wife:

Me: Why is the oscillating fan blowing in the garage?

Her: It's running to make the garage cooler for the cat.

Me: You do understand that a fan running, without a sweating human being present, does not make it feel cooler in the garage, right? And, cats don't sweat like humans, right?

Her: It moves the air and makes it feel cooler.

Me: No, the ambient temperature will not be made cooler by a fan blowing the same temperature air. All you have done is create a convection oven.

Her: That doesn't make sense.

Me: (Turning the fan off) Look it up.

 

I get that too. Then I tell her that the fan motor makes the air hotter. Then I tell her the friction of the air going across the fan blades creates heat. She just walks away.

 

Chill on the OCD and mansplaining.
It makes everyone's life easier...

 

Yup.
It doesn't matter how I get to a destination, she almost always says 'Why didn't up go this other way?'.
Now I ask her how she wants to get wherever when we get in the truck.

Nevermind mind I've been driving professionally in 4 states for 37 years...

 

I tell my wife to shut up and go play with makeup and purses and glitter, or whatever broads do. If it's something that requires rubbing 2 or more brain cells together, I'll handle it. I'll call you if I need a sandwich made or I wanna look at your ass.

Technically, she would be right. If there is no sir circulation, warmer air collects at the ceiling. If the cat is sitting on the top shelf, relatively cooler air from the ground brought up by the fan would be enough to cool the cat a little.

 

Check out life expectancy stats for male v female. We always do stupid shit. "Hold my beer" is ingrained in our DNA.

 

I don't buy it. Our mouser doesn't climb up on anything so is always getting the coolest air possible at the lower level. A fan would just serve to mix the warmer and cooler air and make the overall lower air warmer.
