need some help trying to see if my idea will work? i got this idea from when i was installing my alpharex headlights. im trying to do a 3 led trx style in the hood scoop like shakezoola "https://www.tundras.com/threads/hood-scoop-lights.92682/" in this thread. he has his wired up to a switch box but i want to wire mines up to always come on when i start my truck and turn off when i shut off the truck like my drl on my headlights. only problem is my headlights is already tap to my IGN so which other fuse is good to tap into?

next is to wiring it up i decided to buy a 4 lead led light bar wiring harness from Amazon (i choose a 4 lead cause the only option are 2 and 4 leads). im thinking of plugging the red and the black from each led to the leads, then run the red wire to the battery, and cutting off the ring on the black wire and putting the black wire into a fuse tap. then putting the fuse tap into a good suggested fuse to tap into instead of the ign since my headlights are already tapped into it.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

You're on the right track. You want the red and black wire rings to the battery and ground, and the trigger wire (yellow bullet connector?) to tell the relay to power up, to run to where your fuse tap currently sits on ignition on, you don't need a second one.

I make my own looms, so I can't speak to which wire color in that particular premade is which exactly so you'll want to look at the sales info (or link it for us), but it'll be easiest to split the power from the current DRL fuse tap and use one as your relay trigger for this kit, and one for your DRL as-is. The relay trigger pulls very very little current and won't overload anything to double dip that fuse tap.

Red ring connector = + battery
Black ring connector= - battery or ground to frame
1-4 output spade connectors = your LEDs
Yellow? bullet connector = split the existing ignition fuse tap to a Y and run DRLs from one, relay trigger for this on the other

They don’t have a detailed schematic but my guess is red is hot +12V, black is ground and other wire is to illuminate switch. The kit has a hot and ground wire with lugs that are designed to connect directly to the battery. The switch or trigger circuit is tapped off the hot side. When switch turned on it closes the trigger circuit on the relay which in turn closes the contacts to the lights

A few... Definitely more than 2
In the short harness that connects to the switch, Red will be always hot +12V, Black will be ground obviously (and in the case of the switch the ground is only there for the little LED backlight), and the White wire will be the trigger for the relay. You can safely ditch the switch if you don't want it.

Back to the main harness, connect the big red and black with the ring connectors to the battery. Then find where the white wire connects into the main harness then use, T-Taps or cutting/splicing or what ever flavor of wiring is your favorite, to connect this white trigger wire into your ign fuse tap wire that goes to your headlights. Because this is only a trigger for a relay this should not add any significant load to your existing fuse tap so you have a very low risk of popping fuses.
