Aftermarket Towing Mirrors

Wanting to change my stock mirrors to telescoping towing mirrors.

I have the Boost mirrors. Quality is great and they are huge. Any increase in rearward visibility is paid for with reduced visibility at 10 and 2 o'clock. Maybe that's true of all tow mirrors, and if you're tall (I am) you can see over them. But in some situations, such as turning when on an incline, I find it really difficult to see traffic coming from the left or right. This is surely an unpopular opinion, and just my $0.02.

 

I do get what you are saying, but its really never been an issue. Maybe just the roads I drive cause those points to not be a concern. I love how much rear visibility I have now, and that I use every time I drive.

 

Anyone else have issues with forward visibility with the Boost mirrors? I’m looking at getting a set myself (stock doesn’t cut it with our trailer), but it’d be good to know…

 

It won't be specific to Boost, any tow style mirror that sticks out further and takes up more vertical space will cause you to lose some visibility.

 

Do the Boost mirrors maintain heating and BSM features?

 

Y’know, if I would’ve thought about that at all, I would’ve realized that…

I just ordered the Boost mirrors as they seem the best quality after research. Appreciate to info here that led me to them. I'll post more after I receive and install them.

 

Got Boost mirrors on my truck and love them ! Truck doesn't have BSM , so I can't answer if Boost has that option.

 

If you order the right options, yes.
You can also get them in power folding - both as a retrofit or if your truck already has it

My 2008 had the factory tow mirrors and it was very similar. When I got the ‘21, I made it about 2 weeks with the stock mirrors and started looking for options for tow mirrors… the plusses of additional visibility behind me far exceeded any negatives from slightly reduced front corner visibility.

 

I went with the Ebay special Boost clones on my 2018 as I was too cheap to go with Boost. I've been happy with them. Great visibility pulling the camper. BSM capable but my truck doesn't have BSM. Heater function works, haven't hooked up the reverse lights yet unfortunately. I'll be doing that soon since the daylight is quickly diminishing. Looks like they've discontinued them now though.

 

I have the boost and highly recommend but they are expensive. Buddy of mine has the eBay special and are similar quality. Mine from boost are the power folding and his are Manila fold.

 

The Boost mirrors arrived Monday. I selected the manual fold with flood lights and BSM.
I installed them in a few hours that afternoon. As with any such product the learning curve took more than 2 hours to install the drivers side and then less than an hour for the passenger side. Followed the directions in the installation video and was not hard at all. Most difficult part was fishing the wires through boot between doors and frame, made much easier with the assistance of my wife with her smaller hands.
I am very happy with them and looking forward to testing them out with our new trailer later this week.

 

I also installed the Boost mirrors last Wednesday. Installation was fairly easy, followed the install video.
Tried them out with my new trailer yesterday and they are fantastic. Spendy but worth it in my opinion.
