I’m thinking I might have built this gantry a bit tall. The casters will make it another 5” taller :anonymous:

    So....

Explain why you needed to hide that you bought these. Wait. That's not what I mean. Explain how you think hiding this delivery will protect you from :ballchain: finding out about this purchase. I mean, I know she doesn't notice low key mods, but there's nothing low key about these wheels, Homie.
    She. will. notice.

When I sell the Method beadgrips, I will use the money to pay back the money I used to buy the beadlocks. Then I can tell :ballchain: I used the proceeds from the sale for the beadlocks - that way I’m not lying :D But until then the beadlocks will be buried deep under a mountain of truck parts that she’ll never look at.

I’m getting up to speed with your rebuild, so are you skipping the drop bracket lift this time? I know that spartan dude was running 40’s and LT and DB lift too it seems like there’s a handfull of you tundra guys really crawling with those setups. It’s very interesting to see

The drop bracket is the key to getting the lift I need up front. I’m going to transfer it over to the DC. Long wheelbase = terrible break over angle. Only way to negate that is to go taller. Portals would be nice but not $19k nice.

I see, there’s no way to tub firewall and just run LT on stock LCA location & still gain lift and up travel ? I know all about break over I wheeled a double cab Tacoma and that was bad enough

With the Tundra being so heavy once the frame makes contact with the obstacle, that you’re breaking over, and is resting the weight of the truck on it, there’s no way the front axles can pull you up, even if you have LT with the wheels making ground contact. (Imagine scenario above is a tall waterfall obstacle)

Thanks for your time and that explanation, I totally get that. I suppose it makes sense if you’re gonna have a “full sized wheeler” like this as big and heavy as these trucks you probably want a big ole one ton solid axle under it or you need to be tall enough to dance over stuff. That’s cool man thanks for the insight. My wheeling days are over and I’ll put 35’s on my truck with at most, a 1” lift but it seems like these trucks are better suited for go fast type trail running. Love what you’re doing

Well if I was not on disability I could buy a second set of tires in 17 lol

... I was thinking of putting my toyo AT2W 295 70r18 on for daily driving. since no-one is interested in the 5 tires for $500 or even $400 such a steal.

Well. You wanna keep throwing money at replacing torn tires, 17's'll give you more padding for those sharp rocks you keep finding.

or you could drive better. ;)

This mofo barely squeezed by the side of the house. Casters on here make me nervous. I think I’ll add a plate to spread the load.

Taking the bed off, assisting with bumper removal/install, and holding up the engine/transmission when I drop the frame from the cab.

The bed is really light weight. As long as the casters can handle 100 lbs apiece you should be fine IMO

It’s when I suspend the engine/transmission is what makes me worry. To be more specific, it’s how the casters are bolted to the foot of the gantry that makes me nervous because it looks like the 2x8 is gonna split.
