My prediction remains that at the end of the day major car makers are going to acknowledge they lack the capability to do this profitably and hand the market back to dedicated EV makers. But that will be after a lot of pain.

I think the autoworkers see this huge pot of cash the companies are about to invest in job killing EV technology and are using these negotiations to try to drain it as much as they can. This is a backdoor way to try to slow or kill the EV transition.

Yes. It's over 4 years and they're starting from a position of being 20% to 40% higher than non-union labor.
If it was a drinking game dependent on the UAW saying what they do for a customers or quality you'd go thirsty.
Now it's going to be pissed off UAW workers building Ford trucks.

Well I don't like to deal with politics..but
I can say in Canada they target one of the Big Three. Get a deal done with the Union and then massage the deal for the others. Thats if they really want to get a deal done.
This seems to be a real square peg in a round hole scenario right now.
For them to do this with all three means its all about impact - like when teachers strike right before school season starts.
    Go for the jugular.
How the hell do they expect to get a deal done now with all three same time.
Maybe there are big differences between Cdn and US unions ?
This is going long term - get ready for a long haul - unless the Admin steps in and pays them off.

So now all the door jambs have to put on a sticker that says subtract 7 pounds? Not a big deal to owners I'm sure but I bet a head or two rolled over that. Embarrassing.

Well if I am a New Tundra Toyota owner - for Toyota to do this to me shows Liability Trumps Embarrassment every time. They take it seriously. So I just heard that 22 Ford F150 Limited I posted about just got sold for a new GMC Sierra Denali Reserve 6.2L. He made money on the F150 and 13K of the GMC plus incl tonneau cover. Isnt that the truck with the puny gas tank ?

Yes, like every manufacture with a legal team.

Yeah I think it's 24 gallons. Seems like you'd have a bad time if you ever needed to tow any real weight.

I wonder which has more range. Gen2 or GMC with the puny tank?

I don’t know about the Gen 2. But my 18 Crewmax 2.5 loaded down not towing shows around 873 Kilometers on fill up. I can go 121 kilometers to the cottage there and back and do this two times. So about 500 kilometers. The gas gauge will be sitting at half give or take. So it is fairly accurate. I won’t go below half a tank because it costs too much to fill up at $1.70 liter probably heading to $2.00 Liter soon. What is it I think a 140 Liter tank. Damn. I can buy a lot of stuff for $280 dollars. Princess Auto has Gas 2700 psi pressure washers on sale for less. Just saying. Man it costs alot to travel. FWIW. I get about 12 - 12.5 L /100km gas mileage with the 18 Tundra. My 4Runner same trip averages 10 - 11 L /100 km.

Are there mechanical differences between the Gen 2 and the “2.5”?
