My fog lights are activated when the DRL lights are turned on manually using the stalk.

I have the 4 pin switch installed in the slots (to the left of the steering column) but it's not wired YET. Never got around to wiring them up. But I understand exactly what you're trying to achieve because that's exactly the direction I'm aiming for.

...but at the same time, i don't know if I want the lights on, all the time. I'll get back to it , when I get off work on Sat.
..we got a good bit of ice last night so I had to button everything back up, until all this is melted and it warms up a little.
.I went out to the garage today and didn't stay long, it was frigid.

So, your intention is to have the fog lights light up independently via the switch using the factory fog light harness? Is this correct?

not independent of the lights, the inner 3 leds come on /,off with switch, as long as "atleast" the parking, low, high beams are on.
...I'm now trying to decide what I should do with the independently wired halo ring, on the fog lights.
    They are plug n play
plus a white wire. I'll probably wire the whites together and route to the fuse box, I just haven't decided exactly where yet.

I'll try to get a couple pics on my downtime at work tomorrow, if I get any, otherwise it maybe sat afternoon or sun.
....I ordered the switch from ch4x4, really nice fit.

....I couldn't have done it without the help of these good fellas, in the Chat. I had great help. Rainman_PNW, Jeff_5_7,and a few more toyota gurus were so much help. Ill be honest, I was ready to just go use the aftermarket harness but with a bit of encouragement, it came together real nice, especially considering I don't have alot of money in either the foglights or the headlights. I figured with 236k miles, I didn't need to go overboard.

    Hi,
Does anyone have an explanation for the discrepancy between the wiring diagram in comment #10 where the blue wire is connected to J4 Pin4 and the picture in comment #14 showing the blue wire being connected to J4 Pin3? I spent several hours looking over 2006-8 diagrams to figure out if my car was not a 2007 as the pin numbers in the docs did not match what I was seeing in the car. Thanks to this thread I got my lights working as well.

They are both Pin#4, the diagrams show the opposing face of the connector so its actually inverted. Pins 1-3 are empty, Pin 4 Blue, Pin 5 Pink. Pin 6 Empty
If you look closely you will see this, I added some Pin# to the photo

hm, that means you rotated the picture of J4 pinout clockwise 90 degress, which puts the locking clamp on the right side. I rotated it counter clockwise 90 degress to get the locking clamp and the row of thick connectors to also be on the left of the rows of smaller connectors, to match up, leaving me with pin 6,17,26 on the top, and 1,7,18 on the bottom. Clearly your way works - just not figuring out how - other than the Toyota drawing of j4 has the pinouts backwards ;-) - which seems unprofessional of them - other explanation is that I should ignore the physical layout of the plug and always rotate them counter clockwise to make it match up with where the wires are ...

They are all front the other viewport of the connector. Looking at it from the side that’s plugged into the ecu. All the wiring diagrams are like this so all the connectors look backward

I’m adding fog lights to my 07 Tundra. I wired the in-dash switch that came with the kit using the helpful instructions in this thread - thankful for the expertise here.
The switch is connected and grounded, but the fog lights won’t come on. If I force ground to the light blue wire #4 position, the relay closes and passenger side fog light comes on. Any thoughts on how to test the switch or what to try next?
