Longer shackles are fine if you want to change the appearance of your truck, but they don’t change how your springs sag under the same load. It’s just that there is now more distance between the axle and the frame due to the longer shackle. So with longer shackles, if you do load up your truck to the point it is at or near the bumpstops, the longer shackles are actually making your springs invert worse than they would have with factory shackles due to the longer distance to the bumpstops. That can lead to them wearing out prematurely.

I had CB+2s but went back to OEM shackles and added RAS HD. I got the same amount of lift in the rear as the CB shackles, but it actually supports a heavier load. Somehow, the RAS system improves the ride loaded and unloaded. Feels like a rear sway bar when cornering on pavement, but it also articulates well when off-roading.

I'm only running + 1.5 shackles, and trust me, it made a great difference. Your mileage may vary.

Cannot recommend RAS HD enough. I had similar complaints about the mushy rear then added a camper shell, armor, and Decked system. The mush got worse and she squatted 2 inches. Post install the truck feels better than stock despite the extra weight on 295s.

Go RAS HD you will not regret it.

Does this mean one should get both the real sway bar and the RAS?

    Yes
One is to increase spring rate, one for less sway

RAS HD helped some with sway as well. Don't have the TRD sway though. Wanted to keep the articulation. Love the way the truck rides with the stiffness cranked on the RAS HD. For your issue I'd start with RAS HD then see if you want to add the sway bar. ‍♂️

OME Dakar leaf springs made the ride so much better, less bounce, sag, and better handling Screen Shot 2023-08-18 at 10.14.57 AM.png
