I think the wheels look good but it's your truck so if you aren't happy I get it.

I like them, I just don't love them. I'm just not a fan of dark wheels on light trucks (no offense, FGV) and these are darker than I thought they'd be.

But I got a great price on them and knew I'd only be out a couple hundo if I needed to part with them later.

I mean, I'd say "if for some reason I end up driving to visit fam in TX, I'd drag them out", but the reality is, they take up a fkload of space.

Big question is, the Methods I was looking at (MR31578560100) are on sale, ending today I think. I could save $55/wheel, but $320 still feels so damn steep.

I never cared too much for my wheels other than the fact they are black.
But I got 4 from a friend for like $400 which was a godsend at the time.
I been scheming to ditch the 16" KMC Enduros for some black 17", preferably a six spoke with no bro studs (fake beadlocks), but these days it's hard to find wheels without em and i'd go for a few other spoke counts like 8, possibly 5, if the price wass right.
The main thing is I need a wheel that is the correct hub bore, 106mm. A -12mm offset would be ideal too.
I been running these 108mm hub KMC's for 5 years with 1.25" spidertrax spacers, because 0mm offset.
I just want to be able to run the brushed aluminum / red TRD center caps I bought 5 years ago. Been sitting on em too long.
Someday the 17's will come with a new set of 35's in my future.

This is what I want, but wheels black

Anybody wanna Photoshop that for me?
    Me love you long time...:D

I looked at those Level8 MK6 actually. I like them. I love that color too, would look awesome with your truck. Looks even more awesome with that specific center cap too. But I feel like black would make them disappear, and at that point, invisible wheels ... what's the point of having a wheel if you can hardly make out the details of the design from 20ft away? I think that's my secondary hangup with dark wheels, with the primary hangup being my affiliation with a generation where having black wheels were a sign of a base-model, cheap vehicle.

I'm good with them being obscured. The center caps will pop more. Black wheels reflect the blackness inside the driver's heart ... Blacker than the blackest black times infinity!

Ok, @Darkness  I'm sure he'll be stoked you're channeling the dark energy in his absence if he ever sees that comment.

I just can't bite. I actually think if I just misted my wheels with the same color silver on my OEM wheels, I'd be totally happy with them. I just need a little more "pop" so I can see clearly where my tire ends and the wheel begins.

I'd prefer to use someone who I know would make it last and warranty the work for a couple years. I priced it out locally on a refinish and cheapest I can find is $225 a wheel. And that doesn't include unmounting, remounting tires, re-balancing, etc.

You pretty much described the SCS F5. My favorite wheel.

Yeah, the F5 and Gen5 and Ray10 are awesome wheels. It's too bad SCS is scared to step outside the box and release either in brushed copper at any meaningful rate.

I used to hate black wheels because they all looked like spare tire wheels to me when I was first getting into modding my 99 Taco.
A few months later I got my gig at the lube shop/car wash and saw a Trail Teams FJ Cruiser. I was checking the tires pressure and that was the moment I knew my Taco had to have those wheels. Plus some 265/75r16s Cooper ATPs to replace the 245/75r15 General Grabber AT2s and the ugly tri-six spoke 15's.

Agreed. I mentioned before that I only got my Ray10's because some guy was selling a used set locally. I think I paid $600-650 for the set. I wonder how Matte Dark Bronze would look on my truck.

My only issue with SCS is they're too expensive and I'm too cheap haha.
That's why I been leaning toward the Level8 MK6 over the Keonig Six Shooter.
I can't recall which wheels you have. I thought they were similar to @shifty`s new wheels

Edit: ok you have ray10s. But I thought they were the same color as Shifts

You won't like Ray 10's in the copper offered. That's what's on Hulk. Waaaay darker than anything I've seen you attracted to, for yours.

"Brushed" copper specifically looks pretty awesome to me:

    https://tnstatic.net/attachments/pxl_20211118_014349336-mp-jpg.663079/

    https://tnstatic.net/attachments/pxl_20211117_160945349-jpg.663080/

But I'm a sucker for 20% off and one of the guys at the shop I used is saying he wants to buy my "old" wheels, so ... I couldn't "not" do it.

If you saw that in the sunlight you wouldn't, I think. They look almost orange in daylight. It's pretty nasty. They went waaaaaay too rich on those, then were online posting, "These are only for edgy people who have a taste for fashion, they're not for everyone" or some BS like that.

No, that's not at all what it is. The color is too saturated. If they'd have just put a tad less orange in there and made it close to a yellow gold, they've be flying off the shelf.

Hell, just look at the color difference between the gold in your pic and the gold in my receipt screencap. Night and day.

Damn, I've never been so happy I was in purge mode before. If I hadn't gotten rid of a bunch of old bike stuff back in July, I could've never made this happen. With payday hitting tomorrow, I can probably buy new leafs also. Then ... more parts to sell...

I want precious BBS-level gold, not eggyolks.

Granted, it feels like eggs lately cost about as much as gold, but that's another story.

Aaaaand, got alignment specs. And now it makes a little more sense why the truck is feeling a little wander-ish.

That was the only thing that made sense, I'm just surprised they left it rubbing so hard on the flaps. New wheels are shipping this week. I'm going to have them toss it on the rack and when those get installed, hopefully I can get it booked up before my surgery. Depends on how fast Method ships. I'll be out of commission for at least 2-3 weeks after that.

    Appreciate your input on it.
