Yeah I can see it. Massive reduction in options and trims.
Honestly a lot of the “high” trims make no sense. The top trim platinum looks bad compared to the looks of the base platinum. Tremor high has a raptor front bumper that looks out of place

3.3 gone with the 2.7 left as the main base motor. Trend seems to be to a simplification of the motor lineup which makes sense I think. Just a few years ago you'd be looking at the baby diesel, 2.7, 3.3, 5.0, 3.5. I'm thinking a lot of people would rather have seen the baby diesel stay over the 3.3 though.

 

I think dropping the diesel was the right move. To be clear I LOVE diesel, I've driven diesel work trucks and had a Jetta TDI for years. But with all the current emissions BS I don't think I'd buy a modern diesel.

That's how I read it too, I hate modern trucks. Everything about Farley and corporate Ford sucks.

 

I like my 360 camera and all, but I have no interest in paying monthly for it.

I think this pay for subscription stuff is going to get ugly. Just make the price of the truck what it needs to be for things to work and stop with this nickel and dime shit.

Well not to defend Ford but you have to pay to remote start your truck. All subscription like this is bullshit.

 

Maybe one day they'll have 4wd be a 90 day trial then they deactivate remotely unless you buy the plan

 

Ford stock has been a shit investment. $12 52wks ago and $12 now. Flat. Quality is a drag on earnings. The EV strategy is far from accretive. Toyota over the same period $140-->$180. +30%. Ford HAS to come up with profitable revenue streams and trim costs. Recurring revenue streams, like charging for cameras, have a very good stock multiple. They'll have to mine this for all it's worth.

 

That's part of the reason I sold my Tundra. No subscription needed for my Raptor. But if had to pay for back up camera's on a $90,000 truck I would tell Ford to pound sand.

Backup camera would not be part of the subscription as that is required for all new vehicles but point taken. I would have passed on the Tremor too if the 360 Camera was a subscription at the time.

 

remote start using the app, but not if you use the key remote.

either way, we can all agree that the subscription is bullshit. you pay extra to have the tech, and to get charged for continual usage is beyond me

I thought I'd read it also required a subscription, and I know the key fob RS does not work on our 2022 4runner ORP without subscription (which we don't pay). Yours may work for a while with a free trial but that will expire and then it's $8 a month.
