Have you guys heard anything about the Lightning lately?

Seems like supply may be catching up? My local dealer gas some available for Pre order supposedly...

    Any word regarding reliability lately?

In the time I've spent in new Lariats and Platinum F150's, I've not ever left feeling like my 2014 Lariat was outdated or particularly outclassed. This is especially true now that I upgraded the Sync screen to a gen 3 from a 2020 F150 with carplay and everything. My truck is a little heavier, a little slower, and doesn't have massaging seats, but it is still a very nice truck.

I owned one. Charging curve sucks and finding a charger sucks even more. I would only buy a platinum for the nicer interior but it’s not credit eligible. The lariat interior is too cheap feeling and looking for the price tag.

They dont seem to be able to sell the Lightnings. They have only produced like 9000 this year and there are some sitting on dealer lots. The fact that 9000 of them arnt either spoken for ahead of time or scooped up immediately says a lot, especially when ford has moved 514,000 other F series YTD.

With all the hype around EV trucks and the fact that there are less that 100k total even on the road(~25000 Lightnings, probably 35-40k Rivians, and a handful of Hummers), it seems it was really just a flash in the pan.

Yeah, We know these reviewer guys/gals, get the trucks for free to try and some based on reputation get air fare and hotel paid for, to go to the location too. They help sell the vehicles so they need to point out all the differences with the new models.

With that based on what you are saying.
I can make my 2018 Tundra feel just like a 2021 by putting a new head unit in. and it has a factory transmission cooler too. 8^0
The same thing applies to my 2017 4Runner Limited. hah hah

Unless GM "works on" their 24 gallon gas tank for the 1500 series, it's out of the question for anyone that wants to do any longer distance towing.

100%. At least the gas engines. Guys with the Duramax are saying 12-13 mpg towing a travel trailer so that is enough to get by with 24 gallons.

I say forget the TRX and get yourself a RAV4 Prime Hybrid - yeah
Pull up to Dodge V8 powered cop cars at stoplights, give them the finger and walk away from them.
    They will eat your dust.
Hah hah - just saying and just joking...about giving them the finger.
Not about them eating your dust.

I bet an F150 would probably pull on that charger too. Thing probably weighs 5000 lbs, has a 5 speed tranny and i dont think is the full 400 hp hemi.

    When is the F150 reveal?

My local dealer has 14 2023s on his lot as opposed to the average of 5 or less that everyone had when I bought less year. Other dealer I shopped has over 20. Was about 4 when I test drove there last Feb. I wonder what if anything extra they need to do to move those trucks now that there is a refresh. Not that I'm likely to find it but if there is a '23 powerboost out there comparable to or a bit better equipped than my '21 I'd be curious to see what deal could be done.

Joining the debate here. Test drove and was immediately sold on the F150 Tremor. I got a pretty good deal on my 23 Tremor 2 Weeks ago. Traded in my 17 Platinum for it.

This F150 unveiling is basically updated front and rear end and new bed and tailgate configurability which is cool enough. But this rep trying to ham it up like a ground up redesign is just too annoying to listen to. I can't take any more of him.

Same way every vehicle is "all new" in ads every year ever when literally nothing has changed.

I think HUD has become an option but I did not tune in long enough to hear if the other things are.

They make a big deal about installing a divider system to set the bed up the way most people do by simply dropping in an extender or aftermarket divider, making the couple feet near the tailgate a trunk.

I like the barndoor tailgate though
