Ian at wheeleveryweekend.com sold me the shocks and did the tuning for me. Cant speak highly enough about him.

What criteria was necessary for the tuning? Loaded weight of each corner? Tire/wheel weights to determine unsprung weights?

Is the expected result of the tuning that your bypass tubes are already dialed in, or will you still anticipate that you’re gonna be turning knobs to fine tune the different zones?

    Them are beyond sexy though….

I gave Ian my spring rate and weight over the axle. With that he was able to adjust the valving. I still use the adjusters to fine tune the zones given the terrain im running.

I’ve seen pics of polished chrome and pics of the matte grey. Are the matte special order?

The matte black (aka EVO grey) shocks are the newest version of the 8100. You still can technically buy the shiny finish rear shocks, but the fronts are only produced with the new matte finish.

What's up fellow Oilfield Crapy Lease road Driver. I know you understand my decision here. I to went from driving a company truck to being a Consultant having to provide my own transportation.

Yeah the "Budget Build", is really not so "Budget ". More like Budget"ish".lol

But I'm ready to get it all on, the rides getting rougher by the day. I'll definitely let the group now how it rides when all said and done.

I'm hoping they come in early next week. But I ain't holding my breath, but I need them badly so I can get new rubber. My tires are pretty much toast and I'm pretty much living on a prayer if I have to go another 2 weeks on them lease roads with these current tires

That's what crappy lease roads do to tires, but I do have 55k miles on em, so lasted longer than I expected.

How are these compare to the typical Fox 2.5/Kings 2.5?

Can they make to work with Camburg rear relocation kit? and other springs?

They’re all just as good as one another just slightly different valving and obviously price is king

to be honest, I would kindly disagree to that statement.

I have Fox 2.5 DSC, it's an upgrade on stock TRD Pro, but its not as good as I hope, and the fact you can't really compare to it in person makes the purchase more difficult.

In terms of technology the Bilstein 8100 shock is a technological marvel. I would put them up against any King or Fox shock, and expect them to perform better (in a mid-travel application).

I can't speak on what configuration the Camburg kit requires for clearances, but I suspect that the extended length version of the 8xxx shocks "should" fit there.

Camburg will work with extended travel. As far as that goes

There is an episode of Bilstein shock talk, (episode 4, towards the end) where the guy claims that the 8112 and 8100 bypass combo will run with a tuned long travel or mid travel suspension and it will blow away an un-tuned long travel suspension.

I realize those guys are Bilstein employees, but that is a bold claim to make.
