I will say, it was pretty good.

 

Tsunamis, earthquakes, and plagues do a fairly decent job of population control. Also, the entirety of the human race could stand shoulder to shoulder in less than 5,000 square miles. There's plenty of space and resources if we aren't stupid about it.... but stupid is kind of the norm.

Said it before, and I'll say it again. The latest "plague" was a disappointment.

Speaking of blowing shit up,
We're going on 5 months they've been rebuilding my truck. They called yesterday and said they thought the engine bay fuse box would be plug-n-play. I guess they had to do a ton of actual rewiring, which set them back about a week. Then he said that the truck has to be sent to a dealership to have all the sensors calibrated. That's another couple days. So, we're looking at next week.
It mostly sucks because I needed the truck all summer to work on the house, so I could get it done enough to move in before winter hits. By the time I get it back I'll have a month, maybe 6 weeks to get 3 months of work done.
Oh well. Suck it up and git r done.

Are they providing a truck for you to use in the mean time? Apologies if you explained in the past. I forget most things.

 

Insurance covers 30 days or $1500 for a rental. I had a 21 F250 for a month. Nice truck, but 12 mpg.
Then I got an extension because they kept submitting new shit they found as they pulled the truck apart and insurance held up the approval. So I picked the Taco the second time. I didn't like it at first, but it grew on me a little by the time I gave it back.
Anyway, burned all that up. I figured I'd need to use the wife's car for a bit, because I knew there was no way they'd finish the truck in 2 months. Especially since it took 6 weeks for a few of the parts to come in.
But it's 3 months with her car now. And she has to start going into the office once in awhile now. That means I have to take off work, or we have to get up 2 hrs earlier and I get dropped off, yada yada.
Long story longer,.....don't smash your truck.
Not as fun as it sounds.

 

Talk to Toyota Corporate. I know that they helped out @1lowlife when he was without his truck for a long time because of parts delays. They might get you into another rental.

Yeah, it was an accident and went straight to a collision shop.
I never thought to ask Toyota for anything.

 

Well, on upside to the chaos of this morning; I only feel like I've been at work for a couple hours. In truth, I am over halfway done with the 12 hour shift.

 

It's worth a shot, but I wouldn't hold my breath unless it is OEM parts that are causing the delay.
