I'm not sure I follow. You can adjust your LSPV up or down without a scale. I've never felt a huge difference but other people swear by it.

Just loosen the nuts and move it up or down as desired. Moving it up sends more braking bias to the rear I believe. That might be needed now that your rear is higher.

 

Its been a while since i've looked, but i doubt theres an extra 1.75" of threads.

 

Back from a long weekend of camping and wheeling. Did some trail recon for Best Gens and friends to Dude Ranch since that's coming up in two weeks.







Hurricane Hilary filled this stream up with sediment.




A 30 foot wall of water came through this area apparently.




And now for the fun stuff. Almost rolled the poor girl.








Snatch block off the Chevy to pull the frame up while the Ram did most of the heavy pulling. One pull without any re-rigging.








Rear passenger's door has a small dent and plenty of new scratches. Front door is dented in heavily and won't open from the outside. Also a partial debadging.



Damage could have been much worse and I'm very lucky it didn't roll.

 

Wow, Friend, I'm glad you're ok!! And that you didn't roll your truck. We can probably find you another front passenger door, pull the other back into shape.

Edit: and get you a new driver's seat.

What happened there, were you riding the berm and didn't see it drop out, or-?

 

Riding the edge to let oncoming traffic by, and it collapsed under my passenger tires once I started moving and it sucked me in.

 

Thats nuts. I'd have needed a new seat cover.

Yeah for sure. The ground was so close to collapsing underneath it too. Don't think the tree would have kept holding the truck if that rear tire lost contact. There was nothing at all to tie the truck off to while I waited for backup.

I really don't even think they knew it happened since they were booking it. Only way they'd know is if they were watching their mirrors. Either way all they would've been able to do is anchor off until someone with a winch came.

They caught me off guard and I didn't have enogh time to react so I don't fully blame them. Pulling over for people in the mountains and falling off the side has always been my biggest fear mountain wheeling...

 

Pretty sure wheelers are red.

You can adjust it some too. But the bracket is the way to go and it should be easy enough to make from a steel bracket from your local hardware store. I "bought" one because I had like a $20 credit or something with trail gear I think for something

I'm so glad I deleted the LSPV and switched to a manual valve. Also deleted the return line for the LSPV after running the manual valve for a bit. Much better braking without the return line.

I thought mountain etiquette was to always give the cliffside truck the right of way, IE: you. They should've pulled over where it was safer so you could pass.

Doggy is Rocket, purebred Belgian Malinois that's a little over two years old. Both mine and my parent's dog, but he loves to camp and go on hikes.

This used to be my comfy blue chair, but it's his now. He loves to lay in it and watch the campfire.

The trails in Big Bear get a lot of weekend warriors that aren't actual wheeling enthusiasts. Most people that I come head on act like deer in headlights if you run into them on the trail and will refuse to put their rig into the bushes to let you pass.

My default is I just prepare to let people pass head on unless they're super built or an obvious dedicated wheeler.

 

That's a big commitment for him, since he's not fully mine it's also not my call. He likes riding in the truck, but he hasn't really done much offroading yet.

 

@shifty` I also have those brake lines on at least the silver truck. Also from Wheelers

I can't remember if I put them on crackie, but I think I did? Unsure.

Anyways, those brake lines have given me no issues in 50k miles since install on silver truck

 

@des2mtn there are some free doors down in little Italy. Want me to see if they’re available and if so grab them for you? They’d need to be painted black but otherwise look in good shape.

 

Makes sense. Y'all have tons of public land. We mostly just have the off-road parks and some public land. Since all my TX wheeling has been in the private off-road parks, everyone pays to get in and is handed a map with rules and guidelines. Most the rigs are built with purpose there. Not to say there aren't novices and stock rigs. I cut my teeth at Hidden Falls. But I also had a wonderful community of hill country Toyota enthusiasts, who welcomed me into their crew and taught me everything I know about off roading. All the stuff you can only learn from experience watching others wheel from outside the truck, the passenger seat, and behind the wheel. Forums can only get you so much knowledge. So I get it with the weekend warriors not knowing shit lol.

If they are DC first gen, or first gen Sequoia, that would be helpful. AC/ RC doors don't work on my truck.

I might just hunt in junkyards for Sequoia doors. The Sequoia passenger doors should have an auto-down motor which I might be able to make work if I get the proper switches for it.

I can reach out too in the morning. I have the space for those and I actually need one of those faux oak ash trays for one of my rear doors. If nothing else, the latches in those suckers have some value.
