    Dear Tundra Fam
I am having a very annoying issue with my front parking sensors.

I replaced the chrome corner cap that houses the fog light and parking sensor. After the instal, the sensor started spazzing out and going off when it shouldnt. I assumed it was bad and ordered a replacement sensor online. Installed that, secured it with proper brackets and yet it still going off every time I drive below 5mph.

I dont know what to do?

Buy the factory sensor from toyota for 200 bucks?
They say there is no coding or wiring that needs to happen and you simply plug it in.

Does anyone have any experiences or thoughts on this?

    thanks

Is it one particular sensor or both?

get the factory sensor. Costly, but they will work better and it has been documented here that there can be issues with non toyota sensors. Only other suggestion it to check the connection, maybe dirt or something got in there when it was apart.

I will also say, that water, even just dampness in the sensor or connection will also cause them to act funky- stock or aftermarket.

I'd pull the sensor, clean the contact points and make sure they are dry. If that doesn't work, try moving that sensor to another position to see if the issue moves with it. If it doesn't, then the issue isn't the sensor, but possibly in the harness/plug.

None yet but making a list and looking at the budget.....
Have you put the original end cap back on and tested the original sensor to make sure it was still working. Those bumper sensors are plug and play but i had to get oem as well but got lucky and found it on ebay for $125 so not bad compared to the $345 the dealer wanted.

Had same issue on passenger side when I installed black bumper shell caps over the chrome. I had to shave the white clip that holds the sensor in place on the backside. Try reseating the white securing clip in the backside and make sure sensor is completely flush to bumper cap on the front side. Double check wire harness plug is completely seated.

Swap the sensors and see if the problem moves to the other side.

Thats what I said. Still haven't heard anything else out of the OP, though.
