I love finding historical junk like that, especially way out in the woods. Always makes me wonder about the story on how it got where it was.

I had it in October 2020, 2 pos tests in a row and not 1 symptom.
Off work 14 days, and got paid for 10.
Only took the test is because my FIL allegedly passed from it and we were around him in his last few days.

Wife and I had it 3 weeks ago, got into my chest.
She only had a fever, tired, and headache.
They gave us Paxlovid, it made me sleep for 5 days.
No sense of smell loss, but the medicine left a metallic taste in our mouths that made food undesirable.
I was off work 7 days, without pay this time, but that's what savings are for...
She was able to work from home.

It's going around again, funny how that happened.

My parents house is an 1840s build on a 1760s foundation. When we moved in we found their dump site and excavated a bunch of old gin bottles and a few smaller blown green and purple bottles and a few pieces of the old water pump that they used to pull water from the stream.

 

My buddy got the OG strain about 3-6mos in and it kicked his ass but he's always had lung issues since we were kids. I'm almost certain I had the beta once in '20 and again in early '21 (same symptoms as wife and kid that tested positive). Honestly had worse colds. I never tested either time, and never took any time off. Definitely didn't get any covid money besides the stim checks.

My cov 10 day pay was a govt mandated thing back then, I think.
Although I had to jump thru hoops with my employer's insurance company to get it.
I even got calls from the state health dept asking about personal details about me and my wife.
I kindly told them to fuck off, I'm not giving out any personal info to some random dick that calls me on the phone.

We never got any of the stimulus money so, you're welcome..

 

When we bought our property, the old barn had already burned down years early (from the growth in/around the foundation, probably 20 yrs) and the locals had already scavenged anything worth keeping or scrapping.
But, I did find an old side delivery hay rake from around 1940ish. That's when tractors started becoming a thing, so it could be pulled with a horse or tractor. It had brush and trees growing around and through it. Looked to be complete. I still need to get it out and treat it with something so it doesn't disintegrate.
I'll have to find the pics from a few years ago.
It was the only cool thing I found on the whole property. The property was the last decent sized section of what was a giant farm in the 1800s. Some guy from the city bought it in the 40s for pennies on the dollar, with the promise he'd use it for farming. So he put a few cows on it, called it a farm and used it to get away from his wife every weekend for 50 yrs. He croaked in the 90s, it got passed along to family members who lived in the city and never used it, so the locals all hunted it, dumped their trash on it and scavenged any cool old farming stuff left laying around.
