There was one shop I saw competing regularly bitd, they'd throw enclosures in the bed, and run a couple of 2" - 4" ports into the cab through the rear wall of the truck for single-cabs who couldn't hold a box. And it was loud as hell.

Finally caved and bought a larger torque wrench that wasn't twist-on-shaft so I can properly torque my axle nuts, current wrench only hits 150ftlb vs. 173ftlb. I've been generally happy with everything I've bought from Tekton over the years, hoping I don't regret this purchase.

Even though my current old school guns technically snap onto zerks, I had some extra credit from the scAmazon, so I figured I'd give the LocknLube a go also, it's here, haven't tried it out yet.

You won't. I have two and they seem like high quality parts, especially for the price.

I have three, have been using 6-8 years now, I think? And I had an extra/duplicate I gave to Tundra2 when he was here, since I don't need multiples. The ones I've been using:

    TEKTON 1/4" Drive | 24320
    TEKTON 3/8" Drive | 24330
    TEKTON 1/2" Drive | 24335
They've been solid, but after as many years as I've had and used, I kinda wish I had a way to confirm the torque was accurate. I don't fully trust it's accurate based on some interesting cases I've had while using and setting the three above correctly, despite the fact I always unload tension after use, never dropped any of them, and always keep in their cases. Hoping this more expensive split-beam model is better, and the pivot head is going to come in handy on the axle nuts.

The only issue I've had are the LBJ bolts. For some reason I can't get either torque wrench to "click". After breaking two I just get them close enough then go by feel.

    I've been tempted to get the 3/8" and/or 1/2" .

Actually, hell. If you tossed one of those in your vice at the male/ball end, I guess you could measure your wrenches to confirm if they're clicking at the right torque, eh?

Weird. I had my passenger LBJ off/on twice, and the driver off once while installing my lift; no issues with tightening down all those bolts 12x. (knock on wood)

I probably should've just replaced the LBJ while I was in there, but ... dammit, they seem fine and barely 65k miles.

Something like that is something you stumble across for free or is given to you. No way they’d pay for a cap that doesn't fit or looks ridiculous.

Its probably to protect something from the elements.

Must be a Texas thing. We called em stabbin cabins in high school. All the kickers had em on their trucks.

That LockNLube works pretty good on like 4 of the 8 driveline zerks. I had to use the custom grind tip to get the other ones. Take both tips under there with you.

They would go hook up in them? Why only the kickers? What's the point of them? So many questions.

I think I may end up sticking with the tip I've got, but will see. Kinda wish L'n'L made one with a 35° angle at the tip, but I guess you gotta make room for the mechanism.

Both of my guns have the old-school 2pc Pressol-style tips on them that have an internal lock, just just push on, which has been working with all 8 zerks.

I saw a twist on it that was interesting, where the end is at a 90° and you can see three lock/latch pieces in the tip (just the tip)

I think "kickers" is a reference to "shitkickers", a type of person? Kinda like when I lived in DFW they called all the cowboy types "ropers", aka what they call "hicks" in Florida? Indeed, so many questions.

Fun story, related to TX and kickers hooking up.

When we were in DFW, I remember one of the trips me made to SA area to visit one of dad's friends. He had kids also and they had one of those typical 80's era short-but ovular trailers (with looked like a rolling egg, but sidewalls were vertical, wavy stuff).

All the parents hanging inside drinking. Kicked the kids out, "Go hang in the trailer!". So we're all chilling in the trailer, playing poker at the kitchenette area, the curtain to the bed area is up, and we hear some giggling behind it. Noticed when we walked in, it smelled ... unique. Like a pile of used bandaids. I didn't realize what that smell was until several years later, but it stuck out glaringly. I remember we kept telling them to be quiet, they were being goddamn noisy and we thought they were just messing with us.

Turns out one of their 4 kids was like 16,17ish and had his girlfriend in the trailer for some buttlove.

The "shit kickers", yes. The cowboys. Canyon TX is fairly rural, lots of farm boys out there. They all had their 70s and 80s POS trucks with nasty ass glass packs "racking the pipes". And yes @FirstGenVol, they'd do the nasty in them.
