    How much ?

I'm willing to wager its cheaper than anything the Big 3 churn out these days by 50% - and just as reliable.

It's funny - I was checking out cheap Chinese mini-excavators yesterday - and shocking how much they look like the name brand stuff (probably a combination of stolen design - similar manufacturing and common components used). Some of the stories thought from people who bought this stuff and didn't realize how critical quality control and actually knowing much skilled assembly plays a part in a product though. I mean - just because it LOOKS like something and uses similar parts doesn't mean it will perform like the name brand.

Still for 14-20k - I'd take a chance - what's the worst that happens - you need to do some mechanical work and improvise some repairs - maybe swap an engine in a year ?

True - how bad can these things be really ?

Take a simple concept - skip the reverse engineering of adding pollution controls and boasting fuel economy and just go with it. It’s not like a reliable engine is THAT hard to build with modern components.

Even better - no workforce demanding a new contract with a 50% raise - China knows how to keep the population in check.
