What options do I have with Toyota when they do not have parts ?

    My 2022 Tundra drivers side window will not work.
    Dealer states it needs a "front left window regulator "

    I gave the dealer many weeks to see if the part would become available but it is not available and the parts departments stated it will months before they even know when it will be available.

    I know Toyota has the part for their new builds.

    What options do I have?
    Does this fall under the lemon law?
    Anyway to escalate this up the chain with Toyota?

    A lot of parts Toyota produces are parts bin parts. A lot of parts do crossover to other platforms. Mainly non specific parts, like window switches probably have 8 or 10 Toyota models share the same part. Just gotta do some legwork on it to verify that is the case.

    Since it a warranty repair I would like to have Toyota fix it. that looks like the part needed but when I put the part number in , I get the following message "Unavailable for purchase at this time. Contact your Dealer to check for product availability."

    I contacted Toyota. They stated I would get a call back with in 24 hours. No call back at the 24 hour mark but since it is a weekend, I will give them through Monday.

    No call from Toyota after they stated they would call back in 24 hours(last Friday). I called Toyota again today during lunch and they stated a case manager would call me back today.
    It is now after 6:00pm and no call back.

    has anyone had luck with Toyota stepping up to the plate and making things right or this the new standard for Toyota?

    Time zone difference in the country the rep is working. One time I called it was definitely West Africa.

    Toyota corp was able to take care of the part for the window and it is now fixed.

    side note: the dealership tech stated that the window regulator cable looked like it had water damage and the cable was damaged. Not sure how this would happen but people might need to keep on eye on your windows and if it not closing/opening quietly and smoothly then take it in to get it fixed if under warranty
