Do yourself a favor and wait to install everything if you’re using the bracket to install the knob. It’s tight against the dash and is impossible to get a screwdriver behind the faceplate to screw in the bottom screw of the bracket

    Mission accomplished.
    Ordered one for my buddy.
    That was way too easy.

I'll need to pull the radio at a later date to swap the GPS connector, so I'll just install the knob at that time. I really don't want to have to pull it again after the inital install, but I'm impatient and can't wait for all my parts to arrive first....

you will pull the radio with the dash kit together though. You will have to pull the radio and remove it from the dash kit if you want to get access to mount the bracket later.

Mine is in the lower DIN mounting position with the screen dropped one set of screws on the chassis and all the way in (TBH, I didn't know the screen could adjust in/out until I did the Tacoma).

It Just barely clears the climate control panel and is low enough to where it doesn't block the dash clock. Also it is almost touching the dash kit on the bottom.

While I haven't wheeled with it, it is solid on our crap roads.

    Dumb question.

I have the headunit in and the truck already has 2 pairs of Hertz audio separates in the doors running off a 4 channel amp. Dash speakers are not connected.
Any reason to retain the factory JBL amp at this point?
Would like to put my subwoofer amp in that space, just figured I would make sure something stupid isn't running through the amp that I wouldn't normally think of like steering wheel controls or the headlights?

Don’t those go off by themselves. Sounds like population control. But what do I know. I’ll go sit in the corner with my tin foil hat.

Yes, there have been some that went off by themselves. They are also issued to the military and lots of LE.

Fuck all that shit. If it works with the Alpine GPS thingy, no way in hell I'm going to yank all that shit out just to swap to the Toyota one. If it works, it works.

I’ve built two from scratch (like from a piece of sheet metal and a template) and I struggle to see how they can mechanically “go off by themselves.”

    they are great shooting pistols

Ask me how I know…..hahaha. I have taken my dash apart more times than I can count. But it was completely installed and dialed in……..until I bought the oem gps antenna adapter this week. So I will take it apart one more time, install that and weld the god damn dash back together never to be touched again…..

Was able to get the Alpine 11” on Saturday. Took some work but I got it. Was able to order online and have it delivered to the store. At the store on arrival, they cancelled my order and then sold it to me for the internal price. The Best Buy staff who helped me were great. Thanks to everybody for posting about this incredible deal.

I went to one of the stores nearby, gave the SKU at the geek squad/customer support desk. It rang up $350.99. Was so excited until they said it was out of stock and couldn't be ordered :annoyed: I felt so close yet so far...

Has anyone tried this with wireless Android Auto? Just curious how quick the connect time is and if it's stable.

Went to other BB in town. Spoke to manager who said while their system does show the $350.99 price, there aren't units they "can get." They did say a store in Wichita showed an open box available, but again, for some reason they couldn't sell it to me or ship it, but I could drive up to Wichita if I wanted it.

Can you get them to order it to the store at full price, then return it when it arrives and buy it at the marked down price?

I’ve got tracking info on the one I bought in Chandler last Friday - it will be here on Monday

I like this option of still using your truck's Sirius antenna vs not and having to mount the mini antenna somewhere else. Might as well use the factory (cleaner IMO).

@RainMan_PNW it didn't seem it was an issue with the pricing, but there just aren't any anymore, idk. Other than the one open-box in Wichita, from randomly picking zip codes I was able to see a BB in Orange, CA also had an open box, but that's it. Nowadays it's so easy to have things shipped, it seemed odd they couldn't ship one of the open box ones...they acted like they don't see the entire national inventory on their computers, only the surrounding area.

D@mn. I found this thread too late and wasn't aware of the Best Buy deal. They're all out of stock in my area, nothing within 250 miles according to the website. I'm still gonna visit my local store during lunch and see if they might have any. Worth a trip at least just to see if I could get one at that price.

Has anybody ordered the 507 they are wanting to part with? BestBuy didn't have it when I asked. Thinking about adding it to my 2013 Dodge charger I use as a commute car

They didn't have any in stock, but I had the associate pull it up and order one for me since the website was showing in stock when I checked this morning. I wish I had my camera handy when he saw the price.

It's stuff like this why Tundras.com has become my one-stop site for anything Tundra related. Thanks to all for your awesomeness!
