My 23 Tundra is now a 24

So my 23 Tundra 1794 Edition was supposed to arrive today. I inquired on its arrival date for confirmation on Monday-Labor Day as the dealership was open and my salesman sent me a text back saying he would call me yesterday morning with an update.
Yesterday morning I get a call from the GM saying my salesman no longer worked there. He went on to say the dealer he was going to get the truck from would not give it up. This is after waiting two weeks for my new Tundra. He went on to say that he found a 2024 1794 with TRD off road for 2k more and he will have it in 10-12 days. I feel like it worth spending the extra 2k for the new model year and the off road pkg.
I’m just curious what happened to my salesman.
