Is this an upgrade over the stock charger?

 

Yes, it is an upgrade over the stock wireless charger.

 

I'm not finding a write up on this. Does it plug into a USB port or is there a way to get power from behind? Website says requires power via USB 3.0 cord.

 

Yes, it will plug into the USB 3.0 port. However, other members have came up with an idea on how to get it to plug in from the back using an after market USB 3.0 plug and attaching it to an add-a-fuse and plugging the whole set up into the fuse box underneath the glove box. Here is the thread dealing with the EEF wireless charger. Post #356 have the instructions on how to do the add-a-fuse mod to get the EEF wireless charging to put in from the back.

Can this be installed in a SR% that has no OEM wireless charging ?

 

Yes, this can be installed in a SR truck. However, you would need a few more pieces to make it work.

No, it do not include the factory style plug. It is power via the included USB C plug.
