Don’t go anywhere Dr Z , I like talking trucks with you

even mr , f-150 is better than any of what you peasants have bannerman , I know he’s just here to stir the pot as he’s admitted as such, so we just fire back and forth here and there for fun,

I’ve been on truck forums since 2000 with a 2000 tundra i got in late 1999 as my first “full size “

the pickuptruck.com war room was something else back in the day especially as one of the few tundra members there. You had to have thick skin but this kinda shit never bothered me, I don’t give an actual shit what anyone thinks of my rig, I buy what I want as well.

I owned a ram and seriously shopped the gmc and ford but in the end the 2023 platinum tundra was just the best for me , ya know since I only put a bag or two of groceries in it apparently , ha!

lol, I posted that video a few days ago after months and I got my hand slapped

I had a BAP platinum antimatter powerboost picked out , it was close , one thing was you didn’t get all the shit at the time, several features were missing

I think the options constraints are largely abated for F150s at this point. I did make it a point that there was no way I'm going to accept delivery of a $60k+ F150 with any feature deleted. They can either send it when they get their shit together or I'll just wait until they un-f it in 2024. With Toyota increasing production, other manufacturers can't play the "oh supply chain problems" excuse for that much longer.

It's the same with GM when Ford increases production on their HDs as well. Once Granger Ford went back to 2% under invoice on 2024 Super Duty orders, GM seemed to start shipping a bunch of their 2500/3500 trucks to dealers again.

What I've noticed in different segments is once there are more than 4 significant competitors, the BS seems to stop. Ie. for the half ton market - Ford, GM, Ram, Toyota.

However, when you look at the market for 1/2 ton based full size SUVs, there are really only two competitors with significant volume - Ford and GM. Until Jeep (Wagoneer) and Toyota (Sequoia) start to get serious about increasing production, the improvements in production supply will be slow.

Did you had a ram truck before? What happened? I had 2013 ram 1500 before the Tundra, still miss the hemi as I've got the throttle delay with Tundra :(

Ya, I had a custom built 2013 ram sport. 3.92 , zf 8 hemi with a borla of course

    that thing rumbled

In the end, I had it 3 years and traded on my 2016 tundra as I wanted another tundra, butt damn it was taking a step back as my ram was loaded and my tundra was a dinosaur, had no storage and hardly any features , I kinda regretted that trade at times , but the tundra did have better build quality

    Ridgeline owners anonymous lol
I was in that group too, was great in so many ways, tailgate, in bed trunk, the only thing that pushed me over to a full size is the towing I'm often right around 5k and felt like I was pushing the transmission to the limit.

Honestly the Ridgeline just needs a refresh so it doesn’t look like a Camino pilot . Good “truck” for those who don’t want a full on body on frame truck

Honda CEO needs to chase the bean counters outta the building and GM engineers for the electrification program as well. Sadly Honda Quality is not what is used to be.

    @shorenetworks said it perfect!
I had the first Gen and it was great in the winter, alot of wind noise from the windshield that literally was below the dash. The trunk storage was great unless you we getting mulch, then don't put anything in there, lacked power and milage was pretty poor. I towed a 12ft by 8 single axle trailer with a log spitter, fuel and all the wood. Then the Ridgeline had all the ice and cold refreshments and other tools, worked well at that time.

    Back to Tundra vs F150.
I liked the tailgate step for this reason, easy to slide off generator.
    IMG_20201127_142509.jpg
But, today I did a mockup of getting my camper hooked to the tundra and I really had no issues.
    1. With the hitch on the truck it didn't throw any false warning with the back up sensors as the Ford did.
2.Turned off parking assist sensors, no Brainer.
    3. The air suspension was awsome to just lower it, back in and raise it. Despite I have an electric jack the suspension doesn't shit itself when it takes on 800# tongue weight like the Ford did.
    4. Will need to set up the load dist bars and see what I'll need to change, But I should be able to use Manual on the suspension per the manual and set it level. Advise??
    5. What the hell? Nice safety chain points vs Fords, but what do I do for the main pin as the clip won't go on completely. Do they make a longer pin?

Add this too "out for a test drive while the ford's in the shop"https://www.f150forum.com/f2/test-drove-toyota-tacoma-546475/

Damnit.......all this talk about crappy Ford made me trade the Titan XD in on one :D.

2022 F-350 7.3L Lariat with 3,997 lbs of payload, should handle our 4,660 lb travel trailer pretty decent. No more counting pounds required.

Maybe I'll get lucky and not have any lifter issues, but that's what warranty is for I suppose......

    3/4 or 1 ton?

my transit 350 also has 4K payload , it is nice to just throw whatever you want in there for the most part and not even really think about it

Just messed around with a f-150 platinum on my way to work. Raced it from few traffic lights. Each time passed it by half a car length then maintained same distance throughout each “race”. On cornering tho I felt like I took the turns way faster and no oversteer or understeer. Maybe he was just too afraid to take turns at that speed. Either way, this doesn’t contribute anything to any of the trucks but still felt good to race a fellah truck driver and “win”, sort of like winning a special Olympics race.

My wife who is always all over the place on car purchases was talking about Grand Wagoneers this morning. Who knows if they'll still be on her mind next week but I'll have to do my reading. Shame, I was very excited by the prospect of the 500 hp hurricane engine.

Suspension has not been the F150’s strong point imo. The shocks generally suck and there is no rear sway bar. Some shocks and a hellwig rear sway bar make an amazing difference in how confident they are.

Other than an intercooler upgrade, a hellwig rear sway bar would be the first thing I did if I bought a new F150

Sounds like he was worried about the cam phaser noise his dealer “can’t replicate”…
