It’s just a new plastic insert that is flat so it’s easy in your knees or to sit on.

That looks great, but $269 USD plus shipping for a CNC cut piece of plastic? That'll be sniffing at $450 CAD once the dust settled. Ouch. Call me cheap, but for that price I'd want aluminum and could probably have a local shop make one for $500 or less. For the plastic version I'd pay $150 CAD, tops.

Now I'm curious. I'm going to call around to metal supply shops this week and see what I can find for pricing on aluminum plate. I don't need the cup holder indents or anything fancy like that, just having a flat surface is good. Especially using the factory piece as a jig, it wouldn't be hard to whip something up...

I like them but yes I would never buy one because they are too much money, I can spend that amount on so many other parts for the truck.

I ordered an OEM 6.5 foot bed mat from Elmhurst Toyota Parts online. I had one on my Tacoma and loved the fit and “grip” it offers. The Tundra bet mat I received was very poorly trimmed along the edges. (I’m placing the blame on Toyota not Elmhurst). It still functions properly, just not super impressed with the quality of product. Has anyone else had this issue?

Mine fits perfect are you sure that isn’t a return that some one trimmed

Not sure I could ever prove that ha, but the mat itself seems otherwise unused and new

It almost looks like it may have been a return that maybe the customer cut. I can't imagine a cut that abhorrent would make it through QA.

I have a bedrug that I posted photos of in another thread that I'm too lazy to look for. I love it, but for my uses it's perfect. I have a shell and use my bed for lugging surf and snow gear around mostly. It's easy on all of our gear and on the kness when crawling around, the fit is nice and the price is better than other mats. I only have the bed rug at this point, not the side pieces they also offer, but I think I'm going to get the tailgate rug soon so the tailgate is more comfortabnle to sit on.

    Lots of stuff!
I just rolled out my Bedrug in my 6.5’ box. I got the one with the tailgate protection.

I am letting it relax and flatten out before I stick it with the velcro.

Looks like it will be very nice on the knees!

I like that it is very light. Seems like maybe 10lbs. Since I keep adding things to the truck that is appreciated!

My bedrug was delivered yesterday, I'll get it in this weekend. I ran a bedrug in my last two trucks and don't think there is a better choice out there for someone like me.

Now, I just need to sell my OEM bedmat.

Mountain Hatch USA sells their tailgate insert directly from their website. It's currently on sale for 20% off and they offer a 25% discount for Police, Firefighter, Teacher, Nurse / Medical Worker, Active Military Or Veteran, and Long Haul Truck Driver. The current ETA is six weeks and they do not ship to Canada.

I have this one as well and like it better than the OEM one I had in my Tacoma. No fancy logos or patterns but it grips well while allowing you to easily shift boxes and cargo around without it getting hung on the pattern.

Cool idea! Just remember that if you sit on your tailgate, the spoiler might rub the paint off at the 2 corners of the spoiler near the handle.

OEM all the way. I was sitting in the truck bed today working on something it was so comfortable.

Question for those with the bedrug XLT. I need to slide in a sheet of plywood once a month or so, and looking for a solution that doesn't make that a miserable process (had an oem style mat in my last truck and it was so sticky I ended up taking it out before each trip to the lumber yard).

What's the experience like when sliding stuff into the bed? Does the gap cover between the bed and tailgate cause any issues?

Thanks for any insight you're willing to share

I haven’t tried sliding any sheets in as of yet. The hinge of material does cover the gap but it is lose. I think I would lay a couple of 2x4’s down and slide the sheets on them. I can’t see sheets sliding on the bedrug material.

Sliding stuff in and out is a dream, IMO. I haven’t had to buy any heavy lumber (just some random 2x6s) since I put in the bed rug, but I’ve loaded my heavy Plano cases many times. Each case weighs probably about 40 to 50lbs. I said this in another post: The bed rug makes it easy to slide stuff around but its surface has just enough texture to keep things from sliding around in transit. Things tend to stay put while driving.

i've had no issues sliding anything into the bed and the gap cover does not get in the way and if it does you can tuck it into the gap very quickly but it's not been an issue at all. The rug is not overtly grippy but will keep things from sliding around. Best money I've spent so far!

Be aware that this Gator bed mat is not 5/16" thick it is half that. On the underside there are stand offs that when measured with the mat total 5/16". I would say that the mat would be as thick as a typical floor mat not counting the standoffs that are patterned on the backside of the bed mat.

Any bed tailgate seal suggestions? I try the ESI rubber bulb seal. Maybe I installed wrong but the tailgate doesn’t close as well and water still gets in after going through high pressure car was test
