I've had many different CAT-BACK systems. Learned one key point. It's a V-6 and not going to have the V-8 sound. Moving past this, decided to build my own.

    1. Using same diameter pipes
    2. Borla Universal Resonator # 401339 just after Y-Pipe
    3. Magnaflow set into Magna Flow Universal Offset #12589
    4. Took Helmholtz Tube from Dirty Deed and installed on TRD Tale Pipe Section.
IMO opinion, best sound yet. Better Throttle response, No NVH/resonation. Slight noise increase normal throttle and under heavy throttle, you definitely know it's there. Cabin Noise-none-Wife didn't even notice it.

    Pictures attached.

thought about similar - using the MagnaFlow universal but putting the oem resonator from the tail pipe section behind the magnaflow muffler (took the oem tail pipe off and put on the TRD Dual). How did much effort was the mandrel work for the section connecting into the rear flange? Picks of it? Sound clips please.

I've seen this on the web - Sound clip would be nice. Does this have the resonator behind the muffler or only the muffler? dimensions of the muffler (4x9 or 5x11)? would be nice too along with install pics too. TIA.

Like mentioned above I’d like to hear some clips too . Everything that I’ve seen being made sounds stupid and way over priced . It’s a v6 and won’t sound right regardless .it just blows my mind to spend a 1000 on something that reminds me of a ricer

you ever think about dyno testing to see what it does ? I guess it’s too late maybe since stock base wasn’t done

The best one I’ve heard so far was Keith’s system , let’s hear a sound clip

No resonator just piped off of each cat to Y pipe then to the muffler, then single exit that extends over the rear end then Y's off to duels single side (drivers side).
*Note the OEM muffler weighed 16.5 pounds more,so just a FYI.
I too am aware It's not an V8 just a 6 banger with a good set of balls and overall more than pleased with it just wanted to modify the exhaust and found the Magna flow had the best sound for sure.
When playing sound bites on a phone, computer or a TV all have different speakers so on and so forth it's not a bad reference point but actually hearing it in person will seal the deal, well it did for me that's why I bought it before my truck arrived.

    LED headlamps/fogs; interior footlamps.
So what about fuel efficiency - did it improve around town and/or highway? (I mean that is the real purpose of all this, right?)

There isn’t much of a purpose at all besides sound exhaust note change

Definitely not for fuel economy for sure and as mentioned it's purely for acoustics and personal preference, maybe a very slight HP increase (slight if any) just like for drop in's or CAI with out additional modifications such as charge pipes and tuning there won't be much gains.
Thanks 303Gen3 for the props on my Rig it's been fun for sure getting done what I want done as you know the list continues to grow.

you have to be careful you don’t lose low end torque as well , that happens often and then you gain 3-5 hp up top, but who cares about that , low end grunt rules in trucks

Looks good! Be careful with getting water in that resonator. I had the same one from dirty deeds and got water in it. The tone definitely changed when there was more water in the resonator. I drilled a small but probably too large of a hole. That created a bit of noise. So I put on a band clamp with a little rubber to block it.
