I'd refer back to my earlier comment about who put those laws on the books (perverted old men) leaving things intentionally vague so they and their buddies are free to live out any fantasies they like. Just because it's law doesn't make it "right" or "normal".

That said, I'm running back down for some "more pressing" issues.

Precedent isn't law, it's historic court rulings that are respected as if they are law, usually 90% of the time anyways

"Historic" is a key word here. History. As in ... it was OK once, in history, i.e. Shakespearean times, but things have changed with the world and how we live immensely, which is a fully valid reason to nullify precedent.

Pretty sure this particular precedent was established in like the 70's or 80's. I can't recall. Doesnt matter....

Thats Dale. He's a Border Collie/ Aussie mix or at least that's what I'm thinking today. I have one of those 23 & me dog dna kits I need to do, but its more fun to speculate. He's goofy as hell and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. All around a great companion.

Ah yes ... the 70s. I think this accurately portrays what I'm saying. It's funny, it's cute ... until you sit down and think about some 20-something that works for the city banging high school chicks, specifically because they're ... high school chicks.

Oh, no. He was 33 at the time. Shame he indulged in that sort of behavior, he was a fun guy to be around. Now he’s ruined his marriage, his relationship with his kid and he’s labelled for life.

Ooof. Yeah, someone half your age. That's craaaaaazy. Do I think it deserves 10 years of sodomy? Seems kinda harsh, I dunno the details. Tough to say. Glad I wasn't the judge or jury.

Drove a white 2023 Tundra crewcab limited and i gotta say, my 21 yr old truck handles the bumps better. Maybe its the tires, IDK, but i can feel every bump in the road now with these newer Tundras.

I remember one particularly interesting evening with a nurse while I was a clerk at the hospital where my dad worked. That would have been somewhere near 18 and she would have to have been in her 30’s I think. Went to visit her later at her suggestion and did a family trip w some other nurses, tried to make a move and got a clear no. I think maybe she felt bad about it. I definitely had no ragrats on that one. Think she finally found a husband less than a decade ago. Interesting lady for sure.

I once dated a girl from work when i was 29 and she was 36. Her girlfriends would high five each other while she complained about robbing the cradle. Probably because her friend at work who enticed her to go out with me thought i was 33 at the time.

I don't mean that. I mean, you thinking there's any circumstance in which a 16 year old can understand all ramifications to give "consent". Before you jump in, think about which of us has been a 16 (or 13) year old girl.

Allow me to clear this up plz I'm not siding with anyone. I'm simply stating the facts based on a background of education on the specific subject and the law. That is all.

I am however siding with the law with respect to the various states' statutes.

I was also correcting an incredibly common misnomer that shifty has to made on a few occasions. Again just saying facts. Words matter. Definitions matter.
Further more it was applicable to Bill's story where he first mentioned 16 specifically, because that's the age of consent in Massachusetts.

I hope I in no way offended anyone.
    That never was the intention.
    :)

I call a duck a duck, a truck a truck, and if the law stated a truck is now a "bedcar" and a duck is now a "pillowbird" tomorrow, I'd still call it them a truck and a duck, respectively.

I thought the guy at Chase mentioned 5.12% 6-month CD on Thursday. That might be closer to home & available to you.

Nah, i've got a 5.37% CD from a credit union in Framingham to look into Tuesday.

    Hopefully no weird exclusions.
