Anytime you wanna come check it out when I'm out that way. I usually stay the night there after a few days at Hidden Falls to get a shower, a hot meal and a real bed before the 5 hr drive back to the coast

Our cabin resembles this one but brown

River and pool... They got rid of the hot tub back in the late 90's. Only the OGs (my family) remember the old hot tub by the river walk haha.

Here's what it looked like before the yuppies bought up cabins and turned them into McMansion cabins

I hear the river is really low now :(

Sorry, but Alluvia's got one hell of a burger. Like, worth going there for the burger, and not the talent.

Still haven't forgiven 'ol Jimmy for letting his people knowingly destroy a significant piece of Atlanta's rich musical history to build a shitty near-skyscraper timeshare next to Centennial Olympic Park. Despite more than a year of protest and unrest which he was 100% aware of. He had the power to stop it, was given multiple workarounds to preserve the site, but couldn't give two shits about musical landmarks.

That's a little extreme for a statutory status crime (likely victimless) that isn't even a crime in several states. Sometimes I hate state's rights. And it pains me to say that.

States where age of consent is 16

Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia and Wyoming.

    32 states/50 states.

It was a compromise between height and comfort. Full standing height would have been nice, but then it would have been extremely tall.

    Its still unfinished

Starting on some overhead storage/wiring chases this week and then I can finish up the 12v lights inside and out. Then I should think about installing the diesel heater before its gets cold. The build of the shell took about 8 months, and since then I've just been enjoying it.

Trifold full mattress that does double duty as a couch/bed, and a big ass slide out kitchen. What more does a guy really need? Beats the hell out of setting up and breaking down a tent all the time.

Honestly, doesn't matter. Everyone knows we have some medieval laws on the book enabling older men to hook up with people who aren't considered mature and rational enough to vote, smoke, drink, and about a dozen other things. Guess who put those laws in place? Older men who wanted to hook up with kids. The reality of the matter is, if your buddy was older than 18, maybe 19ish, and hooking up with 16yo, that's some pedo ass behavior and he probably should be in prison. Just that 2-3 year age gap I mentioned is exceptionally huge in maturity terms.

I say this as a father having one of each. Laws allowing marriage before 18, and any allowing non-adults to legally have intimate relations with full-blown adults are straight up pedo fodder.

    Not pedophilic*
Technically that's not even hebephilic behaviors

You are trivializing real pedophilic behavior, which is actually indecent and immoral and obviously very much illegal. And in doing so you lessen the value of the words themselves and that bothers the shit outta me, as someone who had to study this shit

What has been seen and heard cannot be unseen nor unheard. You don't want to know...

Not to mention the Romeo and Juliet defense precedent

No trivializing anything here. It is simply my opinion that an age gap of greater than 3 years for anyone younger than 20 is too much. You know what they say about opinions ... I own up to that, if you think mine stinks.

20 and 17, 16 and 19? I don't see a problem, those attractions happen. 21 and 17, 22 and 17? That's getting a little more squirrely right there, for me. 25 and 17 or even 26 and 18 is just weird, you're in two completely different levels of maturity, one with immature child-like views and mentality, and in some case of my friends' kids, immature child bodies. It's even more weird to me why anyone, say, 35, would ever desire to hook up with an 18yo or 17yo, frankly, other than having physical relations with a super-young person. At that point it's borderline fetishism.

It is what it is. Whether someone wrote it in a textbook or study literature or not. And I know a lot of people who feel the same way I do, far more than don't. Right or wrong, it is what it is.

Romeo and Juliet defense precedent.. but you changed your numbers from you last post, so it only applied to the 3 year gaps.

Your fealings and fatherhood mean nothing to the law.

Q really did good to bring human trafficking into the public eye, but trivialized a lot of the real issues in the process and maybe you've drank the koolaid

anyways this subject gives me post traumatic stress so I'm moving on.

Cool, I'm sorry, did Shakespeare die this century and I missed it?

At the time he was around, late 1500s, early 1600s, average life expectancy was 30 years. Marriage etc. at younger ages made a lot more sense back then.

I'm not an originalist (with anything, Constitutional or otherwise) If humans live 3x longer in modern times, age of consent should follow suit.
