This looks like fun, I'm going to need to copy your trip! Is there a permit system or anything, or looks like you drive out and setup shop?

Ya no permit needed. Just pack food and drinks and drive down to the sandy entrance.

I don’t think it’s allowed overnight but my buddies have done it. My dogs were off their leashes and most around us were as well.

Would you say it's better than ocean shores? I been to OS and on the Res right above (with drunken escorts), been wanting to get out there but scared of my new 3rd gen ending up like my 1st Gen Tacoma framewise...

We’re going to be butchering a couple pigs this fall and I absolutely HAVE to have a better smoker for hams and bacon. The old one I’m using is pretty burned out.
If anyone nearby is thinking about upgrading, let me have a shot at your old one.

I need to pick your brain on raising meat pigs one of these days.
My wife did it in FFA when she was a teen but we're thinking about trying it out

I tried so many times to convince my wife to do that, but she couldn’t deal with butchering something we named. I grew up raising hogs for 4H/FFA

We did through the farm my wife works at - 150 Cornish cross and then split between four families. Over 20 of them didn’t survive the full 8 weeks. Those things are an abomination of nature - they just stand and eat and grow.

We usually butcher 20 to 30 a year. We’ve got 3 or for flocks. Last year sold around $4,000 in eggs.

The breed we have now are a heritage breed called Kuni Kuni’s. Slow growers and not real big. The good part is that they are pasture grazers and they don’t root up the ground. They’re cleaner than the dogs and incredibly personable and friendly

You definitely need to have at least 2, cause they need company. Probably around 1/6 of an acre and a good size tree for shade. A little shed for protection from the weather.
