Alpine ILX-F511. Game Changer

Definitely! Back doors get component 6 3/4 with tweeters in the door? Fronts component 6 3/4 with the tweeters in the dash, or should I scare up the sail panels?

 

Thinking of 2x Rockford Fosgate R1675-S for fronts and rears, and a 4-channel amp Kenwood KAC-M1814 all together under $300, probably just bump it up over $300 with wiring and RCA cables to the headunit. Any other budget-friendly suggestions?

 

Is there a good one that doesn't take the cost from $300 to $550? 45% is a bigger jump.

 

It’s a shorter drive for me… I can even visit my folks along the way.

7 or 8 channels is ideal. That way you can dial back the dash with gains so they’re not screaming at you.

 

I feel like the dash speakers are just distracting. Long term plan for me is simply delete them.

 

Did you ever get around to trying that adapter? I ordered one, but unfortunately it doesn't arrive until Tuesday and I was going to try and install everything this weekend if I had the time. If the adapter works, then I'll probably just hold off another week until I have everything in hand to start.

 

Wanted to say I truly hate you guys. I went to Best Buy and bought the Kenwood for 504.

Picked up my Kenwood 1037 today, ordered Sunday. Now to weed through all the post and find out what I need to install into a 21 sport.
Wasn't planning on replacing factory head unit but at this price couldn't pass

eh, mids up high help in so many ways, as long as you have some semblance of control. Biggest one is to help pull some of the audio spectrum to a better suited driver to avoid the beaming challenges of larger drivers. Especially when said driver is not directly pointed at you.

 

Haven’t done my install yet. Planning to hopefully get it done tomorrow. I didn’t check to see if the Alpine end fit, but the GPS end is correct. As Casey said, it should work.

 

Anyone figure out the parking brake bypass yet on the Alpine? I have everything torn apart and am scratching my head...

Well I was in Colorado on vacation and did not read through many threads during the weeks away. I just read this thread and could not believe the price. I know it has been a while but I went in and asked my wife if she remembered the stereo I was looking at and she said oh no, we not spending that kind of money. I told her not to worry I am not buying anything because I missed it. I told her about the find at Best Buy. She looked at me and said go get it. WTF?! What happened to my wife?!?!? I told her no way it is still happening.

I went to Best Buy within 15 minutes of that conversation and walked in. There was maybe 4 people in the entire store and everyone wanted to help me. I went to the stereo section and was looking but no Alpine. A guy came over I told him what I was looking for and he looked it up and said nope we are all out with no info on restock. I asked if I could see the display model and he said they had no display for that model. I said Hmm and he walked away. I said excuse me, can you ring that up for me? He said he did not know when I would get it and I said that was fine. When he started the process he stopped and looked at the screen, looked at me then said the total is $378.37. I asked when I would get it and he said free shipping to your door Sept 8th. I said sure I will take it and he asked if I wanted a free replacement for any electrical damage, no physical for 4 years at the cost of $49.99 and I said sure what the hell. LOL

My total was $428.36

 

Does this fit into the dash or is there a dash kit required?

Came home and showed the wife that it was still going on. She sat with me and read through the Alpine web site with the features and she said man I wish that would fit in the 4Runner... we bought another

 

Want to pick up a third one and I’ll buy it off you this weekend? Or let me know which Best Buy… I’ve got a friend that wants one back home and around us they are saying they can’t even order it.

When I walked in the second time I stood at the counter for a long time and the three guys I talked with earlier were in a huddle chatting looking at us. Finally they came over and I told him I would like to order another for my wife and I handed him the receipt. When he rang it up he had me check it and see if the price was the same and it was to the penny. I am not sure I am welcome there any more.

Best Buy at the Chandler mall and I know nothing can be ordered online with that price
