2022 1794 (not Hybrid) oil filter question. I've read a few posts that seemed to indicate that my truck used a cartridge type oil filter. Went to the dealer the other day and they looked up my truck and the filters that they gave me are canister type filters. Does anyone have the OEM part number for this truck? Thanks

I don't have one in hand for the # but you can google it, or use the search function here for the myriad threads about this. Why did you not believe your dealer? He was correct.

It's a spin on filter. Oddly enough, the same exact one that our 2019 RAV4 uses.

Thanks all. I guess my reading was all about the previous gens. He gave me the right filters.

Interesting that Toyota went back to a spin-on filter.

I guess they finally figured out their "weight savings" from using a cartridge type didn't add up.

I’m probably in the minority, but I really don’t mind the cartridge filters.

I don't mind them as long as they're installed on the top of the engine. Otherwise, I'm that guy that spends the $$$ to get Baxter performance adapters so I can use a canister filter.

If you think the filter on the 5.7 is bad, try doing an oil change on a late 80s / early 90s GM 2.5 “Iron Duke.”

The filter was a cartridge type in the pan. There was a large plug, maybe 3-4” in diameter. It was the oil pan drain plug as well as access to the filter. All 4.5 or so quarts came out of the pan in about 1.2 seconds flat, with about 3.5 quarts running down your arm into your armpit.
