    I got my dash kit today. Some flimsy ass mounts, but whatever. I also started hooking up some of the harness. Still have 1 last part coming and will soon mount the HU to the dash kit and finalize the wiring as much as I can before tearing the truck apart. For somebody that has done installs for decades, I'm feeling pretty dumb with the extra steps in newer vehicles. I think I've got most of it, but will definately be posting more questions for the last couple of things I'm not sure of. Stay tuned for more stupid questions from me in the next few days.

    2 questions for you guys. I started to assemble everything at the table and think I'm good to go, but curious about the green wire with white line coming from the Alp1 harness not labeled and the green wire with white line from the Alpine camera harness that says speed sensor and is not connected to anything. Do these need to be connected together? And lastly, the blue wire on the antenna adapter I assume can be cut off and covered as it will not be used?

    I still need to wire in the bypass module and connect the wiring for the alpine dash cam, but I'm getting there.

    yup connect those together.

    as for the antenna power lead of the adapter…just verify there isn’t one in the truck side of the harness. If there isn’t one, just yank the pin out of the back of the metra antenna adapter

    I still need to order one of those hdmi adapters from Amazon as well. Maybe I'll get it installed before the holiday.

    Hardest part so far was messing with the dash kit when trying to adjust the screen height and depth. I must have mounted and unmounted it maybe 5-6 times. Couldn't get the angle right to access the screws and I wanted the height as low as it would go, but also closest to the dash. Finally got it and then the power bar and cover wouldn't fit so I ended up taking apart the side brackets of the dash kit with the screen installed and changed the depth to finish that up before then sliding it back closer to the dash side and remounting the brackets if that makes any sense. Anyways, happy with how it turned out in the end.

    Wrong part. I had to rig up a toggle to get it to let me in the settings so I could turn on the front and rear cams. I pulled it out and the other arrived today so tomorrow I’ll get back into setting and see what else I can do.

    Probably would have been installed wrong but I called Tom for the assist. :rofl:

    That one won’t work on the F5xx head units. The Alpine port is different than the 2 that are included. It’s easiest to just use the Alpine GPS antenna and stick it to the underside of the dash
