    Thought this would take much longer, but alas it did not. AJT steering wheel inserts installed, tip of the hat to AJT.

    That’s why I did it. Hopefully I can do better than 4th gear at 65 and 7.6mpg towing 3500lbs. Also saving up for an overland tune.

    So I f'd around adjusting the bull bar today after wiring the light. I think I got it pretty good and at a better height. The wiring kit was pretty simple, but I will change the switch as it comes with a simple toggle which could have been ok, but it is a stick surface mount... It's a simple 3 wire toggle and if any one has any suggestions for one that will go thru a round hole as I have no blanks available. I swapped out the Natika front cam with one that is adjustable height wise as the other one was fixed pointing downward. I'll post a pick lit up later.

    The button covers are sold separately if you need them. I think they were a few dollars more.

    Unfortunately those are just for applications that don't have volume controls on the steering wheel. Mine does. The problem is my button is silver and the covers are black.

    Halfway there. RCI engine skid installed. Next up is the transmission skid and cat guards. I went with aluminum.

    Doing this, I learned that the previous owner dropped the diff, and the front threads for the skid plate are stripped. So, I'll need to bore those out to get the front bolted later.

    So, mods done to this truck by the previous owner as far as I can tell so far:

    * Diff drop
    * Trimmed fender and bumper liners
    * Driver's grab handle

    Hi everyone I might be taking my neighbors 1989 Toyota extra cab pickup with a 22R-E motor out of their hands cheep!
    Would anyone know of a forum that may be a big help on my journey
    And also possibly a good parts website?
    Thanks!

    Watch out for the dreaded timing chain guide / coolant passage wear.
    Assuming it's a manual, Redline MT90 is your best friend.

    Fired the beast up today and drove it to the post office to send off some shirts I sold. Realized it is too freakin hot to go exploring since we slept in and decided to head back to the hotel. Cleaned out the center console from beach mode to prepare it for when I leave Alabama. For the next couple on months, the center console will hold the air pump, inverter i really need to mount and my nocs/camera for the road trip. Little things that make a huge difference when out with the wildlife. Only cool picture today was with the pup but I dont want to cross post, so that will go on my thread.

    Hope yall are enjoying this day!

    There's not really any forum dedicated to the pickups unfortunately. Closest thing you have is Yotatech but its filled with grumpy old timers that will answer most questions with "Just sas it" or "Just 3.4 swap it". Sometimes you can find good advice on there but I was never able to enjoy the community. toyota-4runner.org has a decent section for 84-95 4runners, which most of that information will pass over to the trucks but again, the community isn't as good as it used to be.

    Parts just depends what you're looking for. There is no one stop shop for everything.

    Honestly any questions or advice you need feel free to hit me up. There isn't much on these trucks I haven't done yet

    Disconnect the battery first and it shouldn't be an issue.

    Repost this same ask in the Gen1 General Discussion thread. I may be wrong, but I thought I recall seeing some folks there that did or still do have similar rigs...

Wasn’t gonna install a winch so decided to sell my relentless fab bumper and bought this simple but clean iron bison bumper from Amazon. Was scepticle but it is solid for what it is and I think fits the tundras aesthetics very nicely. Honest opinions welcome.

    Looks really clean, you should probably post a link for it because I foresee some people asking for it.

    Yeah, it’s fairly simple. 30 Torx bit and a Phillips bit is all you need. Just be careful as the volume/phone setups can “fall apart” when you take them out. They go back together fairly simple, just caught me off guard.
