Tailgate top edge protector fasteners seem to be loose

    Is this by design to let the top edge of the tailgate protector to float? Look like torq fasteners with over sized flat washers are the only attachment points?

    Feels the same way on my truck. Don’t spill any kind of corrosive liquid on the tailgate when it’s open because it will drain inside and make contact with wires.

    I Was told @ 2 stealerships is that was supposed to be that way so it would not crack. I thought the same as you as soon as i opened the tailgate. Sometimes it makes you wonder if they do this stuff to save weight for better gas mileage or just a quick assembly so the line worker can go faster. How about those inner fender girts ? If you look they are cloth like material like the carpet padding that goes under the carpet on the inside. Just thought I would call bs on them they know.
