Has anyone taken the issue to Toyota. I took it to Toyota and they said they are gonna open a case for it and let me know. It’s supposed to be covered under warranty so I thought they would just replace it, but they will not until they investigated further . They said the more they hear about the problem the more of a chance for Toyota to do something about it.

Almost a year later lol - I guess I need to turn notifications on. Couldn't answer you though, I use CarPlay mainly. The toyota UI is great but, you're going to laugh, the AI's voice sounds like nails on a chalkboard.

The only thing keeping me from buying this, is that I would have to run a whole cable to my usb ports to connect this to power, occupying a usb port. It would have been nice to have an adapter that would have plugged into the original charger harness.

We shouldn't be accepting this charger as is. It literally doesn't work. No different than having an air conditioner that only occasionally comes on. I'm going to do a warranty claim with Toyota.

I think they did an unannounced “running change” to something with the Qi chargers in the 2022 vs the newer build 2023s. I had a May 2022 build 2022 that had an utterly worthless wireless charger, and my new June 2023 build is worlds better.

I had similar issues with my wireless charger in my 2018 Tacoma, and they eventually replaced the unit under warranty after multiple visits, which ended up resolving the issue.

The techs will initially give you flak about lens bumps, phone cases, positioning, and phone issues. Be persistent and keep trying to make the case that this is not isolated and can certainly be resolved with a properly functioning unit.

I have the 2023 Platinum and my charger is crap. Tried different positions, no phone case, etc... and it works about 10% of the time, but then loses its connection.

Same here- Just picked up a 23 Platinum a week ago and the wireless charger is garbage. It will work for a minute and then disconnect. Going to try different cases, no case, etc. but I’m not hopeful.

I have the same issue on my Tundra 2024 limited edition. Wireless charger has issues with a Samsung S22 ultra and some iPhones. Placing the S22 ultra more on the felt solves the problem but charging is very very very slow. Works fine with my wife's Samsung S20FE.
