    Disclaimer I’m in Canada.

I ordered a 2024 Crewmax, 5.5 in lunar rock. Sr5 with offroad package. This was before Toyota’s website listed the 2024’s.

the 2024’s are now up on Toyota’s website, but my truck isn’t available?? Only the trd sport package is available in my configuration.

My truck IS available as ordered, but in a 6.5 box.

soooooo….. did my dealer sell me a 2023?

my daughter found this website which does in fact list my 2024 truck as ordered, but it’s not Toyota.

    https://evto.ca/2024-toyota-tundra-trim-levels/

my sales guy is going to look into it.

just wondering if anyone has had similar issues?

For starters, you can’t order a Toyota. You can configure one the way you like and request an allocation from a dealer. They build whatever they build. When they build one they way you want it, your dealer can either receive one via their existing allocations, or “trade” the allocation with another dealer to get the one you want. But it’s not like ordering a truck from Chevy where your build sheet travels down the assembly line with your truck and gets sent to your dealer.

Let me know if they are giving you the runaround - I'll be in San Antonio this weekend. I can stop by and give them the old "What for."

Hopefully your sales guy can get it figured out for you. Anticipation sucks.

you are correct. When I say “order” I don’t mean I actually ordered from factory.

I told the dealer what I wanted, and they told me what was allocated to their dealership, and I chose from a model currently being produced. (Supposedly they produce 30 at a time).

nonetheless, I can’t find the truck I ordered on the website.

sales, guy is new. I’m just confused why Toyota.ca doesn’t have my truck, but a non Toyota site says it’s available in my selection.

when I hear back from sales guy I’ll let you know.

really hope they are not playing games. I’ve had a good experience from them in the past. It’s our second vehicle from them

That link is just an automotive website with details on the 2024 model year features. Where does it show your truck has been ordered?

I believe he meant it's showing the trim he ordered, not that it shows he ordered it.

So the question is does what he wants exist to be ordered in Canada. I think we’ve seen historically that the US trim and package availability is not the same as the Canadian availability. Despite that site being a Canadian site, I agree, it’s not Toyotas Canadian site. Your dealer will definitely need to sort this and see what is actually available to them. I believe they just started building 24s this month, so not sure what they know and what they don’t

that is correct. My “allocated” truck is one that Toyota doesn’t produce (according to Toyota), but the non Toyota, site says otherwise.

my wife says companies make huge mistakes all the time and likely the web design people were told to build the website by someone at Toyota who doesn’t know what’s going on.

walked into dealership, and said “I’d like this….. and these colors”

dealer said there was “my” truck being built as we speak in lunar rock, and was allocated to my dealer. I gave them a 1k deposit to “order” the truck. I suppose buy is a better word than order.

was shocked when I went to the website to see my truck (and do the 360 spiny thing) and agonize if I chose the right color, lol.

    now I don’t know if I bought a 5.5 box, or a 6.5. Or a double cab. Or a 2023, lol.

    will keep everyone posted.

the evo.ca web site…. Where would they be getting their information from?

Sometimes these auto sites just make crap up to get clicks - at least many of the ones in the States do.

    Lots of stuff!
We put a deposit on a Lunar Rock Crew but it never showed. After 4 months we found another dealer Vancouver who had allocation of few trucks so we grabbed one. They know what is coming in when it leaves the factory. They can check there system and tell you what the truck will be but I don’t know if they have the VIN until it arrives at their door. After seeing some other Lunar Rocks running around we are happy with the black one.

you were told your, truck was coming? We were shown a sheet of the dealers trucks they were, getting. This wasn’t a “we’ll see what we can do”.

what happened to,your, deposit? How do you like black? I like the color, but I’m ocd about washing and waxing. Black would drive me nuts.

The black is nice when clean. I did a ceramic coating earlier this year and it does help but the truck has been parked for a while getting little use. So it is very dusty. Otherwise, it is nice.

I think the colour I would like the best would be cement but it isn’t offered in the 3rd Gens at this point. Maybe a wrap or some multitone racing stripes.

I am in the same boat, also in Canada, I have an allocation for a 2024 Crewmax SR5 TRD OR, 5.5 in Blueprint. Upon seeing the updated Canadian site, did not see my build as an option and all my sales guy could tell me is that they are able to be built like that in their system. I did come across this article directly from the Toyota Canada website which would lead me to believe someone on the website development team messed up and SR5 TRD OR's will be available in a 5.5 box.

FWIW I learned from a dealer GM friend of mine that the way Toyotas site works is all based on your region/area/zip code. You can only ‘build’ on their site what they intend to produce in the next handful of months. That doesn’t mean they won’t have other random builds slipping through, or differently spec’d models from other regions near you popping up on local dealer lots from dealer swaps, and etc.

If a 2023 was slated for production with certain packages and for whatever reason they couldn’t make it in 2023, it’ll get bumped to 2024 with the same packages, even if that doesn’t match their production outlook for the next however many months.

I can select different provinces on the Toyota website. They’ve always had the same builds.

one weird thing is some of the accessories are priced, differently (block heater for example). It shouldn’t matter where you live. Why is a block heater 473 for me, but 5 something for a guy on Ontario.

It's a dealer, of course they are playing games.

Most are clueless, don't care about you and are out to make a buck. Especially if it's Crown Toyota in MB

It is crown. We’ve bought from them in the past. No issues at all.

I do hope dealerships disappear. Covid has shown us they provide zero value. They are just “ordering a car over the internet” and most times I know more about their product then they do.

    In Winnipeg MB?

The absolute worst. We had a terrible time with them, unbelievably bad with confirmed lies in person and email.

Never again and I go out of my way to tell people to avoid them.

It really doesn’t matter which dealer you choose. It’s all the same. Vickar Nissan sold us a car and no support after a CVT blew up.

I don’t think it’s intentional lies, but lack of intelligence. Car sales, requires zero education, and they are really focused on the sale.

our experience with crown doesn’t reflect yours, and I’m hoping my issue is a Toyota web screw up

At least the Salesman are apologetic up there.

Canadian Customer: “You lied to me!!!!”

Canadian Salesperson: “Sorry aboot that. Eh.”

Then they hug. (If @Outbound is the customer, he shows up three weeks later to the Salespersons house with a tank of butane and a lighter.)

toyota Canada is in the process of updating the web site. It’s not done yet.

He confirmed, the truck I’m getting is the one I’m expecting, lol. I even have a VIN and an expected date of sept 30-oct 4th.
