Yeah, so if it's say a 50% pay increase, but double the COL it wouldn't be worth it. And that's purely the finances part of it. Really not a fan of the stuff out there that I can't talk about without catching a ban.

Y'all and your wives texting is funny..

My wife and I work opposite schedules and rarely talk or text during the week.
She is on the phone all day at work and it's the last thing she wants at night.
I drive all day and I don't like talking on the phone at work.

She loves coming home after work to an empty house M-F, chilling with the dog, having a glass of wine, and going to bed.
I don't get home until later and I have the same when I get up in the morning, except the wine drinking.

We only see each other on the weekends and vacations.
I think that is one reason our marriage is successful..

For some reason, there was a Road & Track magazine in my mailbox today.
There is no address label on it so I can't even give it to the rightful recipient.

EDIT, wife says it did come to me.
She pulled the sleeve off before giving it to me.
I don't even subscribe..

But anyway, I turned it over and saw this watch ad.
It's one of the most God-awful ugliest things I've ever seen.
I thought to myself, how much does this thing cost?



So I looked it up;

It is certainly a work of art.
Now I can't figure out if I want to buy 1 or 2..

 

Just said “Since Dick was the first one in…” in a sentence at work. Perfectly legit statement since Dick is a coworker, but holding a straight face was very difficult.

 

That's uglier that a smart watch, costs a little more and I bet you can't get phone calls on it.

I'd have a goddam seizure looking at that watch.
Why in TF would you need all those dam dials in that tiny space? Is it a fuel gauge, tach and oil pressure? A fuckin barometer?
I don't wear a watch because one, jewelry is for women, B: they're uncomfortable, 3: I destroy them.
But if I did wear one, I would just want it to tell me the time. Probably in big digital numbers.
But, I have a cell phone, a clock in every vehicle, a clock on the TV,......there's frikkin clocks everywhere!
Watches are stupid.

My dress watch is analogue with Roman numerals. Wife bought it for me as a wedding gift.

My everyday watch (which I don't wear much any more) is a $20 digital Casio I bought at Walmart because I knew I couldn't work night shift for 3 months without a watch and because I'd bashed my $40 Casio on my dad's boat while loading it on the trailer one time.

 

No watch gang here, can't stand them. I only occasionally wear my silicone wedding ring

 

I also can't wear a shirt and tie, or button up shirt, buttoned all the way up. I don't know how people can stand having something that tight around their neck, especially if it's more than an hour for a special occasion.
If I was offered a job for half a mil p/yr,....but a HAD to wear a suit and tie with it cinched up around my throat all day, I'd turn it down.
