I want to remove the SumoSprings on my truck, which means I should replace the U-bolts. I had to order new bump stops, which weren't cheap, but the U-bolts are even more expensive. After taxes 4 U-bolts from the dealer are $289 CDN!! Even if I sell my SumoSprings, going back to stock is a way more costly that I expected.

From past threads I see that the stock bolts are about 7.5" long. Most of the aftermarket ones I see are a lot longer since they are for lift blocks, which I am not interested in.

Are there cheaper quality alternatives for a stock rear suspension, or am I stuck with these super expensive OEM bolts?

Has anyone used these before? Will these fit a Tundra with stock springs? It doesn't really give any detail about the applications they work on.

Yes they will. The 7.5 is for stock, and the 9 inch is for lifts.

I priced them out the Toytec bolts and they are just under $200 with taxes and shipping and exchange. The shipping to my location is more than the bolts!

I found these ones I can get on Amazon for about $85. That seems more inline what I think U-bolts should cost.

I am not sure if they are decent quality or not though? They say e-coated, but I'd rather have a plated bolt.

I also found an online Toyota Dealer where I can get OEM for just over $200 after shipping and taxes. If I do go OEM, can I reuse my original nuts? They are rust free and look like new.

Just looked used on my 1st gen. And 2.5 $32.95 + shipping. They run 15% off from time to time.

You're right the price is very good and they look to be decent quality, but the shipping is very expensive. It is by UPS, which charges additional fees once it crosses the border. It's crazy how a $40 part can cost almost $200 once it lands at my door!

If anyone else has suggestions, please let me know, especially those north of the border.

This thread is getting nowhere. No local shops that can make you a set?

I still appreciate the info and it's great info for someone who lives in the States looking for a cheaper alternative. If lived in the USA, I'd just order the Toytecs.

If I could find a good source in Canada or from a US vendor with cheap shipping, like Amazon or RockAuto, then my problem would be solved. So far all the options are pretty close to the same price once they land at my door. Only that one set on Amazon is cheaper, but I am not sure on the quality.

I know this is old and you probably don't have that truck anymore but I had some built by Orillia Spring Service Inc for $150 cash. A lot cheaper when you live near a spring shop. I had a similar issue, my old u-bolts were rusted and I couldn't get the bolts off. So I had them built at that spring shop in Orillia and then installed my new Timbren's.

I still have the truck and plan to keep it for a long time yet. I appreciate the information on the spring shop in Orillia, that's not too far from where I am. I ended up finding a Toyota dealer that sold them at a discounted price. They were still expensive but at least I know they are good and should last the life of the truck.
