Turn water off at floor, flush what's in tank which should remove most of what’s in bowl, remove remainder in tank with sponge or rag, remove tank. Be prepared for some water left in bowl as you carry bowl out.

Plumber sucked and almost had bonfire. They make sheet medal just for that purpose when soldering, which almost look like poorly soldered cold joints

I was told by the previous owner, that the guy who owned the house before him was a DIY guy with very questionable skills. It would not surprise me if he was the one that "fixed" it.

I resemble that remark. But no non-cooking torching indoors. Everything has been pex for years.

Get the extra thick wax rings, and some toilet shims, for the closet flange bolts, look for the KIT(@BubbaW) with 4 nuts total, using them as lock nuts before you set the ring and toilet

Water off, flush, flush, flush, then pull the filter out of the wet/dry vac and suck up the rest.

Sweating copper is an art, IDGAF what anyone says. It's the one thing I'll hire out all-day, any-day. I know all the tricks. But no matter how clean I get the pipe, no matter how hot I get things, no matter how dry everything is, it never goes as well as I see pros do it, where they heat things up then touch the solder to the joint and SCHLOOOOP, joint is sealed. But I also prefer copper over pex, so it is what it is.

But yeah, that's some janky ass shit. The burn marks on the drywall suggest it was done after completion, maybe the bathroom was originally stubbed and they finished it out after move-in?

I'm not sure. To me it looks like the wall was opened up at some point. Hopefully it won't leak in the future.

That would jibe. Drywall was installed. I'm guessing the bathroom was stubbed, he cut the drywall open, removed the cap on the pipe stub, then soldered his runs in. Should've put a sheet between the pipe and wall to keep from burning the drywall, but likely too lazy.

That's a ton of collection at the seam, but my joints never looked any better than that so I can't criticize. Looks like he may've used an excessive amount of flux.

1991. Not the best decade but certainly better than houses built today I thought.

Yup, ours was built 2002, still before everything went to hell about 6-8 years later, and now ... I wouldn't even consider buying anything built in the last 10 years.

I'm going to say Bubba is a sweat-er. and wears shorts. Human sweat destroys car leather. A blacklight in that truck would tell some tales.

Not sure on the double cabs. The AC has differences in transmission cross members IIRC. Nothing that couldn’t be fabbed to work with a new cross member if that’s the case

Similar mileage, similar price, 2nd gen Prius has a ton more interior room, but no manual trans in a Pius.

I wonder how many states our 1GT community represents.
I don't know of anyone here from Oklahoma or New Mexico for instance.
