One thing about the 23's is the chrome fumanchu mustache. It has to go. Not sure why on a TRD OffRoad they have that option as standard but...... I have thought about having it wrapped either to match the grill or truck but someone I heard painted the chrome. Anyone have experience with either?

I'm with you.. I went into the dealership today to see what they would do it and they said they'd wrap it in vinyl to match my TRD grille.. I haven't seen anyone with a black mustache on a lunar rock so i'm still undecided it. Either way, the chrome's gotta go

Happy Bumpershellz customer here. Cheaper than paint and install takes about 15 min

Any weird wind or buffeting noises with the extra plastic on the front of the truck?

    That's why I went with a SR5 for my 23, color matched.

Mine is an SR5 but with the TRD OFF Road options my truck had Toyota decided I would like Chrome. No those of us who use our trucks off-road do not want chrome.

It's weird how they did the limited. Brushed aluminum mustache and rear bumper inserts (which I don't mind), but door handles and window trim are chrome.

I’ve been thinking of scuffing the handles and window trim to have the brushed look. Any of you have actual experience with this process?

I agree. I personally have the limited in windchill pearl, the brushed aluminum color ties in well, especially with the headlights. I was thinking of doing the mustache overlay like others have done on this forum. Someday maybe… But my first choice is to color match the door handles and blackout the window trim at some point …

I intend on wrapping mine, eventually. I think the reasoning behind the chrome on the TRD OR is chrome may not scratch like paint would. Same as having the silver show on the wheels and black plastic flares. I wanted the SPORT so I could have all color match. They didn't offer the Sport on a CM 6.5 bed. I wanted the bigger bed more, for working.
