I tow a travel trailer that weighs in about 8k loaded and I wouldn’t want to go any bigger. What you’re looking at is too much trailer for a 1/2 ton.

On 35's no less. I would not buy that TT to pull with a 1/2 ton on purpose. If I already had it and needed to move it a short distance? Your truck will be capable of doing that.

The simple answer to your question is yes, it will tow it...is it a good idea? Hell no!

You know I was asking an honest ? .I have never owned a Toyota before not sure what it’s capable of so was was looking for some honest advise from people who are no knowledgeable in this area. For those who took the time to reply to me and give me an honest answer, I appreciate it for those who just thought it was a big joke and made a smart ass answer. Go get a life.

    Can it tow it: Yes

Would I tow that trailer with it: To be honest, yes, only very short distances. I would not tow that on a long trip at speed with the Tundra

Sorry, I'm old. I'm used to the good old days when men talking about trucks could enjoy a little ball busting and good natured ribbing without getting their menses.

Okay, what does the payload sticker in your driver's door jamb say? I'm guessing it's not more than maybe 1,500 lbs?

The trailer you listed, wet and loaded is probably going to be over 11K lbs. and for a trailer to handle well you need over a 10% minimum (12 to 15% is usually better) of that to be tongue weight.
So 1,300+ lb. of your payload is already gone just in tongue weight. Now you need to add your weight distribution hitch, you family, your dog, and every other single thing you put in the truck.
Oh yeah, that lift and 35's you added to the truck? The weight of all that needs to be subtracted from your payload, not to mention your COG being higher when that 36' trailer starts pushing you around in the wind or when you need to hit the brakes coming down the big grade 'cuz of that guy who just cut you off.

No, it's 6 or 8 feet and a few thousand pounds beyond a bad match for your truck.

I could explain more but I gotta' go get a life.

There's some great information on this stuff in the Towing and Hauling sub forum. No, it's not a big joke, it's the lives of you, your family, and anyone on the road near you when you wad it up.

All kidding aside, welcome to the forum.

Towing at or over capacity is tiring at best, and dangerous at worst. You want to get to your campsite safe and relaxed and ready to have fun.

Is the Cueball screen name 'cuz you're a pool player?

Fuck it. Nobody listens to what I have to say anyway even though we have a pretty detailed towing section.

He's in Texas, so I probably won't see too much of him here in the Rocky Mountains.
