I think the trick to liking the white will be a white grille surround and possibly white front bumper too. Basically just white out the whole front except for the grille. I'm cheap and it all seems to remove relatively easily, so I'll probably just see if I can get Toyota white in a rattle can and do it myself.

 

My father has 16 SCLB in SR and white. He beats it up on the farm and just does his own maintenance. At 81, he swears the truck will outlast him. Didn’t have the heart to tell him that he’s too damn ornery to ever die.

 

Haha!! Sounds like he’s living the dream!! What state for the farm?? Always been my dream to own my own land to hunt n fish on.

Lookin sharp!! Does that have a front bench seat? And …what model gives you those rims? I can’t keep track of what trims gives you what. I know I want the front bench…& it wud be nice to have those rims. So far….most of the ones I’m seeing that have the front bench only have stock rims.

 

The farm is in Central Ky, up on a mountain ridge. It’s about 120 acres of mixed terrain.

I was a grumpy old man when they did the light refresh in styling for 2014. I hated it, threw a fit amd had all miserable, grumpy old man comments to make.
Then I saw a pic of a red TRD DCLB and did a complete 180. Now 2014-2021 is my favorite body style. The DCLB is obviously the best and best looking of all the Tundras. Dress 'em up in TRD color matching and TRD wheels and it's just truck porn.

Welp….still in the market for the unicorn LB…& finally test drove a LB for the first time this week! I had no issues driving or parking the extra long truck. Unfortunately the Carfax on this particular LB read like it had been rolled….so it was not for me…..but my plan of getting a LB for truck campin retired life come August 1st got a lil more real.

I been researching some truck camper ideas and saw a cap that has side windows that open up…I think this would be advantageous to my eventual LB truck camper build….anyone familiar with this cap and any experience with it? I saw Snugtop offers glass “windoors” on their caps….anyone else offer them? And here are a few pics of some truck campin ideas….

 

Jeez this been frustrating looking for a decent LB….then I find out they don’t make the ARE Mid Rise MX topper for 8 ft bed anymore….& can’t find any used LB toppers

I may be falling out of the LB search and back to a 6.5’ bed.

A few LBs in my area became available and I’m considering on going LB again…but having trouble locating a company that makes a mid-rise high cap. Jeraco said they don’t make em in mid rise for 8 ft beds…& I think Leer, ARE, and Snugtop all told me the same. Any ideas where you find em? I see BlueOx above has an ARE MX mid high but they sent me a email stating the MX is not available in 8 ft…..but I got a different email from a different dealer quoting me $4k for an 8 ft MX.

 

The proper length for utility truck. Those crewmax 3foot beds always make me cringe just I little. Don't get me wrong, I still love you, gang. I guess you can still haul your own fridge from home depot, and if you have a toolbox there, just keep tailgate open.

Yep. I like the Crew Cab…but not sure why Toyota never made it w a man size bed??!!

There is a company that will extend the bed/frame. Not cheap.

 

Not photoshopped. This was for sale when I bought my pro at Rogers Toyota in Lewiston Idaho. Finally seen it in the wild. Looks like a nightmare to park!

 

I doubt it's much harder. When you're used to dclb, this one's only like a foot longer? Also I think chevys and fords with maximum cabin, long hood and long bed are just as long.

Imagine the stability though, like an ICBM on the freeway. Can let go wheel and she will keep course for a mile!

 

The wheel base looks longer than those though. I'd definitely be backing in to park as opposed to pulling in to park.

Mite take a look at this LB tomorrow. Should I be concerned about the 168k miles though? Probably all highway since it’s only a 2015.

Would not be too concerned with mileage. If anything, I would be more comfortable buying at 220k plus rather than below. You don't make 220k miles by neglecting your vehicle.

Or, go low miles used. I got mine at 2.5k. Has 30k now, not a hiccup.

I am running a Leer 122 from a 94-01 ram. Is about a half inch short at most and more box like than the tundra bed but it fits close enough and seals up well. I finished re painting it (for the first time.. going to redo after winter hunting) and have added a lot of other things to it. White and silver isn't pretty but when you're living in your truck for a week you will appreciate anything that helps keep the heat down in FL.
