Afternoon gang. Not a great day to wake up at 3am. Hot water heater died so getting that replaced today. Parts didn't show up from Crutchfield yesterday so maybe today. The bright side is my son is coming home this weekend so I need to go grab a brisket to throw on the smoker.
Hope yall have a great weekend.

Sucks about the hot water heater. I was going to suggest making a heat exchanger to preheat the water going into the house. These ambient temperatures lately have been crazy.

They are slapping it in now. We had the one on the other side of the house replaced about a year and half ago so hopefully I'm set for a bit. We added a soft water system last month so maybe that will help also.
I did notice that when they shut the hot water off my fridge water stopped working. I have no clue if that's the way it's supposed to be done but It feels like I'm paying to heat water then again to cool water.

They turned off the water to the house. The supply is cold water, so that has to be off.

I thought that at first but they only turned off the hot feeding the kitchen. Still had cold water in the sink, but no hot at the sink any at the fridge. I had to do some googling and apparently it is a thing. The reasoning was all over the place. Clearer ice cubes, hot water freezing faster.

Maybe the contractor was just drunk when he hooked it up.

I agree. It coild have been the same one that plumbed my house. Upstairs both the shower and sink are reversed, hot water on the right. But downstairs the shower is reversed but not the sink.

Also, without going into the thermodynamics of it, water at 120F will not freeze faster than cold. Water at 212F will in some cases. But you'd end up in burn ICU every time you took a shower.

So the same plumber works in TX, VA and Canada. He sure gets around.

I was going to say that we must have the same plumber cause my laundry room sink is reversed.

Then I remembered that I was the one that installed that sink. :anonymous:

I’ve seen it happen when two sinks are back to back and the plumber is too lazy to do it right…but usually it’s just the supply lines stubbing it of the wall and then they run the drops to the right handles…

Yes, last night it was Lamb of God opening for Pantera

I even got the movie tickets for tonight and tomorrow, Metallica is doing a live movie theater experience if you can't attend tonight's show and for Saturday or Sunday, cause it's a no repeat set list, couldn't make tonight's event, I'll attend the next one, even ordered the T-shirt
