I’ve heard a lot of it has to do with the college, a huge influx of seasonal renters.

Did you not care for Flag?

I'm not a BIG city guy. I like medium sized cities. Flagstaff has good weather, breweries, restaurants, and people were friendly. It was relatively clean and I barely saw any homeless people. It's within driving distance of a lot out outdoor activities. Traffic didn't seem that bad either. If not for the housing prices I'd like to live there.

Check out Williams or other surrounding cities, flag can get just as bad as Sedona in terms of traffic, only one main drag thru town.

I saw a beautiful mountain on the outskirts of town. I saw so much volcanic ashy rocky ground stuff that I just know was full of history of some volcano fucking shit up a million years ago or some shit.
I saw the a great dispensary, I used truck stop/hotel full bathroom with both tub and shower that was nicer than my houses bathrooms. I experienced the Safeway. I loved that store.
I know there's Cactus Cooler in that town somewhere... I might need Cactus Cooler Zero if they make any.
    The weather was awesome.
I'm not a desert person contrary to what the outsiders view of TX is... Only parts of central and all of west TX is desert. I come from the swampy coast of Houston-Galveston. After driving a whole day thru the desert Flagstaff stood alone as an oasis.
A safe haven from the harsh realities of the Sonora.

It felt crazy symbolic to me.

Edit: and I forgot to mention the twin craters

Oh, I really like Flag. I meant, I don't see why the cost of living would be significantly higher there than other places. In fact, for many reasons, I'd expect it to be less. It's located along primary trucking and train goods distribution routes. Has a good economy owing to the college and nearby tourist destinations, in addition to the shipping industries. I'm wondering what's that's based on, the "higher cost of living".

Williams was kind of scuzzy last time I was through there. One of the grossest hotels we’ve stayed at. Think it was a travel lodge at the time. Flagstaff is cool, hard to believe it’s above 7k feet of elevation. Seems like a very gradual climb up and back. Seems like it snows every time I go through there. Even in June.

On a road trip in sort of nowhere Mexico and the water pump on our Tahoe shit the bed and ate the belt. Luckily could limp it along to a gas station and wait for a wrecker and someone to take us to a town with a hotel for the night.

How many lights were burnt out? I've never seen a GM newer than '00 that has had all the lights working at the same time.

Had a pretty cool view of a summer thunderstorm rolling in over a volcano, though.

    PXL_20230819_102828297.jpg

I did some math the other day and I've saved somewhere around $2.5k in fuel driving the Altima over the Tundra over the last year. Sure I've got a payment but that covered almost 7 months of it

As is nearly every city in the US. :notsure:

Try finding a good restaurant or brewery in a rural area. Around here all you'll find in our rural areas is poverty and meth.
