    Long story short.

my 2010 SR5 vents are stuck on the defrost vent setting. This happened last weekend. It sounded like the vent controls were popping when I tried to switch vent settings and it ended up stuck. With the humid summer Midwestern air this has been annoying in the mornings trying to run the A/C and fogging up my windshield.

can someone please link me to a thread for this. Someone has to have had this problem.

Sounds similar to what has happened to me it sounds like there is a small “door” behind the dash that is trying to move but doesn’t mine is also stuck on the defrost setting. I am assuming the dash would need to be removed I am just being cheap and I just deal with it

a few other things standing in ... for now.
This sounds like a different toyota that I owned - but the gear teeth that control the doors had problems and that caused the "pop" sound as it tried and then failed to engage and switch vent door locations. Sounds like you're on the right track with that video above.
